We see from pages 4 and 7 that, although the U.S. didn't
have any particular problem with any of us going to
mainland China (other than that there wasn't any embassy
there -- for another 6 or 7 years anyway), the Nationalists
certainly had a problem with such an excursion. So we
didn't.
All of these stampings were delivered with much thumping
and gusto.
The green passports of 1971 were a little larger and a
little classier than the passports you get today.
