Semester, Day by Day
Monday, November 29, 1971
The flight from Bangkok was good. We had some Thai food and
wine again.
Tuesday, November 30, 1971
In the afternoon I went with Dirk and Marylou to Hong Kong
Island to the China Fleet Shop run by the U.S. and Royal
navies.
Wednesday, December 1, 1971
Shopped for clothes on Granville Road. We got our winter
jackets for $13.
Thursday, December 2, 1971
We took the Kowloon-Canton railroad to the Chinese
University were we heard a couple of lectures. We had a
real Chinese dinner there that included oyster omelet and
various dishes containing chicken and duck (heads
included), gizzard, squid, liver, pig belly, and fish.
After we ate, Marylou, Don, and
I took the train to Sha Tin
where we climbed several
thousand steps up to the Temple of 10,000 Buddhas. There
were a couple cute little mutts that we took pictures of.
Friday, December 3, 1971
In the afternoon Marylou, Don, and I went up on the tram to
Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island.
Back in Kowloon we went to
Ocean Terminal.
