He registered for the draft on 14 Feb 1942 in Virginia. He was described as 5’ 6” tall and 170 lbs. He had blue eyes, brown hair, and a dark complexion. He claimed to be employed by the county courthouse and he and Esther lived at 221 S. 8th Street. He enlisted in the U.S. Army twice. The first was 14 Aug 1918 to 20 May 1919. The second was 12 Dec 1942 to 29 Mar 1943.
