- Isabell Maxine Thomas, age 99, of Elgin, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Citadel Care Center, Elgin, Illinois. She was born in Alma Center, Wisconsin, on March 30, 1917, the daughter of Harvey and Vivian (Oliver) Chrisinger. Her family moved to Indianford when she was a young girl where she attended Edgerton Schools. Isabell married William F. Thomas in 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1985. They moved to Janesville where they raised 3 sons, and when their youngest was 12 they received a great joy in their life when their daughter Luanne Joy was born. In the late 1950's, Bill, Isabell, Gerald and Luanne moved to Carpentersville, Illinois. In later years, Bill and Isabell moved to Venice, Florida, where she loved scouring the sand for sharks teeth and shells. Around 1975 they returned to Janesville and lived in a small cottage along the Rock River. Years later Isabell moved to Fox River Grove to be near her daughter's family.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Kathy) Thomas, and Gerald Thomas; daughter, Luanne (Bill) Hauck; daughter-in-law, Ruth Klatt Thomas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and brother, Eldon (Betty) Chrisinger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, William H. Thomas; daughter-in-law, Connie Creek Thomas; and grandson, Terry Thomas.
