In the 1910 census (April), he was living in Duluth with his wife and her niece. The household consisted of Nick Bergerson, 32, Belle, 34, and Bertha Swenson, 19, “niece.” Bertha was born in North Dakota, her father in Sweden, and her mother in Norway. Nick and Belle and their parents were born in Norway. Nick and Belle had been married for three years. Nick was a stonemason working for a builder. Bertha was a millinary working in a millinary store.
Registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, in Duluth. At that time he was living at 5025 Oneida Street in Duluth with his wife Belle. He was employed as a night watchman at the courthouse by the County of St. Louis. He is described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair.
According to his death certificate, for which his wife Belle was the informant, Nick was a janitor at the court house. He died from a heart attack. His residence at the time of his death was 4524 Cook in Duluth.
