The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13, at the Northfield Methodist church, Dr. Lawrence Rule officiating. Vocal music will be presented by a trio, accompanied by Mrs. Ted Scott. Her mother died two years later and the father, with his three children, moved from the 780 acre plantation in Tennessee to a 140 acre farm in Alabama. When her father died three years later, Mrs. Lieder was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Norwood of Elkwood, Ala. She began her high school years in Brookston, Texas, residing with an aunt, Mrs. Joe Patterson. In 1914 she came to Dundas as Mrs. Norwood was at that time living at the George Miller home. Mrs. Lieder was graduated from Northfield High School in 1916. She continued her education at the summer school of the University of Minnesota and the normal school at Faribault. For four years she taught schools in Rice and Jackson counties. On May 12, 1921, she was married to Harry A. Lieder of Northfield. For 18 years they operated a farm near Lonsdale, then in 1939 moved into Northfield. When her children had finished college, Mrs. Lieder attended Mankato and Winona State colleges and again taught school for 12 years--at Nerstrand, Dundas, Stanton, and substituting at St. Dominic's school and the Northfield public schools. Mrs. Lieder was long active in Sunday school work at the Northfield Methodist church, served as president of the Methodist WSCS and was active in the circles. For many years she was a member of the Northfield WCTU, serving several terms as president. She had been president of the Northfield United Church Women. She was a member of White Rose Rebekah Lodge No. 100, the Northfield Garden club, the Literary Gleaners and the Northfield Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Lieder is survived by her husband; one son, the Rev. Lyle Lieder, minister of Grace Methodist church at Spencer, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Dale Martin (Lola) of Owatonna, and Mrs. Robert Rhule (Loyce) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren. Her brother and her sister preceded her in death.
