  Notes	He is Helge Olsen Ellingbø, I1855, in Jim’s VS. He is Helge Olson Ellingbø, I6815, in Jim’s Ellingboe tree. In this tree, Jim has his birthdate as 4 Mar and his baptism date as 17 Mar. In the church record, it seems pretty clearly to be May. According to Trudy, he took over the family farm when his father’s widow, Randi Larsdotter Ellingbø, remarried after his father’s death. According to a letter that Jim has on his website, Ole Throndsen Ellingboe (#12055, Helge’s step-father) offered to pay for Helge’s passage to America by way of guaranteeing any loan Helge had to secure to effect the passage. Helge never emigrated and, in 1866, married Ann Jørgensdatter Ellingbøe, with whom he had seven children. A Helge Olsen Ellingbö, b. 1834, and his wife Anne Torgersdatter, b. 1840, had a daughter Ambjorg, born in Vang on 31 Jan 1877, bapt 1 April. The 1891 census characterizes him as husmann med jord. In the 1900 Norwegian census, he and his wife and his children Ole, Anne, and Jørgen live on the Ellingbøhaugen under 33/1 farm. In the 1910 Norwegian census, Helge and his wife Anne Jørgendatter are “far” and “mor” on the farm (Ellingbøhaugen 33/6) owned by his son Ole Helgesen. The household also includes two of Helge’s and Anne’s other children, Anne Helgesdatter and Jørgen Helgesen.
