- Heins W. Heinsohn, 46, a rural Scotland farmer, was killed about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday when a tractor he was in upset four and a half miles west of Olivet on Highway 18.
Hutchinson County Sheriff Sidney Mettler said a loader on the front of the tractor contained gravel and that Mr. Heinsohn was crushed to death when the tractor rolled over in a ditch. Witnesses said Mr. Heinsohn attempted to jump from the tractor as it went into the ditch.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Scotland with the Rev. Glen Iserhagen officiating.
Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral home.
Mr Heinsohn was born Nov. 8, 1924 at Sioux City to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heinsohn. On Jan. 6, 1946 he married Marjorie Guthmiller at Menno. He had served on the church council for many years.
Survivors include his widow; a son, William, and a daughter, Lori, at home, and his parents, Scotland.
