- FAE ANDERSON Fae Jensen Anderson, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away May 24, 2009, of Myelodysplastic Syndrome, at her daughter's home. She was born in Preston, Nev., March 29, 1921, to Clarence Peter Jensen and Rebecca Elenora Hermansen. The fourth of eight children, Fae grew up in a large and busy family. She was a 49-year resident of Las Vegas. Fae was loving, tender, kind and generous to a fault, delightfully fun to be with, hardworking, clear thinking, never afraid of a challenge, a peacemaker, "homemaker," mother, grandmother and many other wonderful traits. She married the love of her life, Harold C. Anderson, in Ely, Dec. 1, 1940. They moved to Elko in 1943, and resided there until she moved with her family to Las Vegas in 1960. Fae was active in the community and supported her husband in his political and public service efforts, but the main focus of her life was her family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each of her eight children grew up surrounded by her love and devotion. With her husband, she served an 18-month mission for the church in Wheeling, W.Va. (part of the Pittsburgh Mission). She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Anderson; son, Wayne Anderson; and daughter, Barbara Winward. Fae is survived by her daughters, Becky Camp of Simi Valley, Calif., Gayle Galler of Las Vegas, Karen Harrington of Okemos, Mich., Linda Sutton of Las Vegas, and Pamela Shephard of Saratoga, Calif.; son, Richard Anderson of Bothell, Wash.; brother, Richard Jensen of Lancaster, Calif.; 29 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, with service following, both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4545 New Forest Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89113. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
