Still single and living at home with his parents in the 1880 census.

|
6. | Franz (Frank) FAUTSCH (1.Eva1) was born about 1857 in Prussia; died in 1892; was buried in Old St. Peter’s Cemetery, Delano, Wright County, Minnesota. Notes:
In the 1885 state census, he is living at home in Delano with his parents and sister. He is shown as age 24, born in Poland.
In the 1886-1887 Minneapolis city directory, he may be the Frank Fautch, laborer, living at 213 N Colfax Avenue.
He is not the Frank Fautch who married Nellie Poortfliet in Yellow Medicine County on 9 February 1891. _That_ Frank and Nellie Fautsch (d. June 1910) had a son, George Leo, who died in Wright County on 29 Mar 1980. In the 1900 census, in which the family surname is written as Fauch, and the family lived in Granite Falls, _that_ Frank is shown to have been born in Germany in April of 1864 and to have come to the U.S. in 1883. _That_ Frank is the person in 1944-MN-018626.
He may be the Frank Fautsch whose widow, Genevieve, lived in Dubuque, Iowa, in that city’s 1945 city directory.
Died:
inferred by the burial record of Frank Fautsch, age 35, in Old St. Peter’s Cemetery

7. | Johanna (Anna) FAUTSCH (1.Eva1) was born about 1861 in Prussia. Notes:
In the 1875 Minnesota state census, she is 16 year-old Anna, living with her parents and siblings in Wright County, Minnesota.
Not listed with the family in the 1880 census. She is probably Anna Fautsch, a 20 year-old dressmaker, living in the Village of Delano. That is the only Anna Fautsch in Wright County in the 1880 census.
She is not the person of 1942-MN-017371.
MOMS shows that an Anna Fautsch married Patrick H Sims in Wright County on 11 November 1880. The 26 year-old Annie who was the wife of 29 year-old P. H. Sims of Delano in the 1885 state census was born in England but so was her husband and their daughter, 2 year-old Hortense Sims. A 16 year-old Lizzie Sims, born in Wisconsin, appears to also be part of that household.
In the 1895 state census, the 36 year-old H. P. Sims, a merchant, born in Ireland, lives at 1913 Carroll in St. Paul. His wife is Anna, 32, born in Minnesota. His children are Hortense, age 12 and 3 months, Ethel, age 9 and 8 months, and Arthur, age 3 and 7 months. His sister, 28 year-old B. Lizzie, also lives with the family.
That household had moved to St. Paul by the time of the 1900 census in which it is shown that Anna Sims was born in Minnesota in December of 1859. The children are Hortense, b. Apr 1883, Ethel, born Oct 1885, and Arthur, b. Nov 1891, all in Minnesota. Elizabeth Sims, sister, age 38, also lives in the household. She has no occupation. Peter Sims is a decorator.
The Sims family lives in Seattle in the 1910 census. Anna is now 44, born in Minnesota to German parents. The household consists of Peter H, 52, a timber broker, Anna, Horace, 24, Ethel, 23, and Arthur, 14 or 17.
In the 1920 census, she is Hannah Sims, the forty-something (her age is illegible other than that the first digit is 4) wife of 57 year-old Peter H Sims a lumber merchant. The family lives in Seattle. Hannah is shown as born in Wisconsin to parents born in Minnesota. The household includes Ethel Sims, 24 or 26, a public school teacher born in Minnesota, and 5 year-old June Sims, born in California, shown as “granddaughter.” June’s father was born in the United States and her mother in Minnesota.
An Anna Fouch Sims, b. 21 May 1856, died in Seattle in 1924. She is buried at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle. There are several Simses buried at that cemetery.
Hortense E Trail, b. Hortense E Sims to Peter H Sims and Anna Fauch in ca. 1884, died in Seattle on 24 August 1930. In the 1930 census, James and Hortense E Trail lived in Seattle. He was a clerk for the department of commerce, she was a bank clerk. Hortense was born in Minnesota to a father who had been born in England and a mother who had been born in France. James and Hortense had a daughter, 16 year-old June, born in California.
James Trail later married Nellie Catherine Shadduck in Washington in 1935.
In the 1920 census, Hortense Trail, 35 and married, lives with her husband in a large “family hotel” in Portland, Oregon, where he is a clerk.
Hortense E Sims and James H Trail are listed in the Portland, Oregon, city directory between 1915 and 1920 and in the Seattle, Washington, city directory between 1922 and 1927. In the 1920 Portland directory, she is a clerk for the Irwin-Hudson Company and he is a clerk for the U.S. Immigration Service. In the 1926 Seattle directory, she is a stenographer for DHNB and he is a stenographer for the U.S. Customs Service.

In the 1900 census, she was Lizzie Zimkoski, a 37 year-old widow living with her children in Franklin Twp, Wright County, Minnesota. She had no occupation. She had had 7 children, 6 still alive and all were living with her.
In the 1920 and 1940 censuses, she was Elizabeth Zimkoski, a 57 year-old widow living in Delano with her 24 year-old son Fred. In the 1940 census, she is shown as having been educated through the first grade.
