In the 1910 census, Arthur was apparently living in Ridgeway Borough, Elk County, Pennsylvania. He was single, living as a “lodger”, and was a printer for a newspaper.

Registered for the draft on June 26, 1917, in Los Angeles. He was a printer for Mead Press and was married. His birthdate is shown as June 13, 1880, but that is obviously wrong because his age is also shown as 30. He was born in Iola, Wisconsin. He is described as tall, of medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.

In the 1920 census, Arthur lives in Los Angeles with his wife Charlotte. He has no occupation.

In the 1930 census, he was Arthur J. Williams, 42, living with his wife, Charlotte, 46, in San Antonio Township of Los Angeles County, California. He was a printer working in a print shop. He and Charlotte had been married for 14 years. Charlotte and her parents were born in Ohio.

No Social Security number entered in the California death index.

Registered for the WWI draft as Edward Morris Williams (b. July 22, 1889), an auto mechanic living in Cedar Rapids, IA, on June 5, 1917. At that time he was married with a child.

In the 1920 census, E. M. Williams, 30, was living with his father and sister at 173 West 43rd Street in Los Angeles. With E. M. was his 29 year old wife, Gerlinda, and their 5 year old daughter, Dorothy C., Edwin is a manager at a “dye works.” His wife was also born in Wisconsin and, like E. M., her father was born in Wisconsin and her mother in Minnesota.

In the 1930 census, he is is shown as Edward M. Williams, 40, a garage mechanic living with his family in Los Angeles County, San Antonio township, city of South Gate. The address appears to be 8162 San Luis Avenue. Still only one child, Dorothy C., 15, still living with her parents.

In the 1940 census, he and Gertrude live in a rented residence in Alhambra in San Gabriel Twp, Los Angeles County, California. He is an auto repair mechanic. He is a high school graduate, Gertrude had had three years of high school.

He registered for the World War II draft as Edward Morris Williams of Alhambra, California. He gave Gertrude, his wife, as the person who would always know his address. He was employed by Mead Motors of San Gabriel.

Died as Edward Morris Williams.

The Wisconsin Births Index shows an Edward M. Williams born in Waupaca County on July 22, 1889.

The Wisconsin Births Index (and Wisconsin Births and Christenings) shows Walter L as born in Waupaca County on October 5, 1891.

He was a pharmacist with wife and child in Pullman, Washington, at the time of the WWI draft registration on June 5, 1917. His birth date is shown as October 5, 1891.

In the 1917 Spokane city directory, he and Inga lived at N1224 Howard. He was a salesman for Owl Drug Co.

In the 1920 census, he and Inga and Helen live in Wenatchee, Washington. He is a druggist.

In the 1923 and 1925 Wenatchee, Washington, city directories, he and Inga live at 131 S Delaware. He is a pharmacist for Owl Drug Co.

In the 1927 Wenatchee directory, he is still a pharmacist for Owl Drug Co but he and Inga now live at 847 Kittitas.

In the 1930 census, he is living in Omak at 214 South Main Street in a house worth $3500 that he owns. He is a manager in a drug store. Walter L. is 38, his wife Inga is 36, and his daughter Helen D. is 14. Helen was born in Washington. Inga was born in Wisconsin, her father in Norway, and her mother in Wisconsin. Walter and Inga were 21 and 19 when they were first married.

Cemetery records say October 4th. The difference may be due to his death certificate saying he was 48 years, 4 months, and 29 days old.

Presumably, she is the 11 year-old Della Williams, “boarder”, included with her cousin Dena Gilbertson and family in Wausau in the 1905 state census. However, the 11 year-old “Delia” is also included with her father and siblings in Iola in that same census.

The 1892 birthdate is from her California death certificate. Other information suggested October 1893.

In the 1940 census, Dorothy and John lived in South Gate City in San Antonio Twp, Los Angeles County. They lived at 2811 Missouri Street in a home they owned worth $4500. John was a salesman for a laundry supply company. Dorothy was a saleslady at a retail gift shop. John had earned $2350 in 1939.

A Dorothy Claire Stadler died in Los Angeles County on September 9, 1990. Her maiden name was Williams. She was born in Wisconsin on 22 Aug 1914. Her mother’s maiden name was Beane.

HARRIET ANN CORBETT November 14, 1922 - August 29, 2007 Was born to Harry and Clara Eichler in Los Angeles, CA. She was a longtime resident of Fremont, CA before moving to San Ramon, CA. She spent her early years in Los Angeles. She attended Dorsey High School and went on to college at UCLA. Harriet married "Big Jim Corbett" on May 3, 1942. They raised 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward (1983) and her son James Michael (2003). She is survived by her son Richard Corbett and daughter-in-law Pamela of Livermore, CA., daughter Eileen Corbett Scranton and son-in-law John of San Ramon, Carolyn (Cece) Corbett Rowe and son-in-law Carl of Redding, CA, son, Brian Corbett and daughter-in-law Viki of Durango, CO, son Dennis Corbett and daughter-in-law Jennifer, Tracy, CA, daughter Diana Moseley and son-in-law James Moseley, Livermore, CA, and loving friend and sister-in-law Eveleen Corbett of San Leandro, CA. JAMES MICHAEL CORBETT Passed away peacefully on October 17 at his home in St. Helena, CA with family by his side. Born in Los Angeles, CA on September 24, 1943, Jim had many friends. He was a former resident of Fremont, CA, where he owned Newark Travel for many years before his retirement last year. He was a former Rotarian in the Fremont/Newark area. He died, after a long hard battle with lung cancer, due to second hand smoke. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 35 years, Terri, and his children, David (Laurie) of Medford, OR, Julie (Matthew) Cia of St. Helena, and Jennifer of Dublin, CA. Jim was preceded in death by his father James Edward, and is survived by his mother Harriet of Fremont, CA. He is also survived by his three brothers, Richard of Livermore, CA, Brian of Durango, CO, and Dennis of Tracy, CA and three sisters, Eileen Scranton of San Ramon, CA, Carolyn Rowe of Redding, CA, and Diana Moseley of Fremont, CA. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Brianne, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Austin and Nicole Cia of St. Helena. he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Among Jim's favorite pastimes were flying his private plane, going to air-shows, driving his orange '67 Corvette, driving his tractor in his vineyard, enjoyed a glass of his fine cabernet, traveling, cooking, and especially telling a "good story" or joke. A visitation will be held on Friday, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Chapel, 990 Vintage Ave., St. Helena. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 25 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Mission Church, 1241 Neibaum Ln. Rutherford. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Helena.
