In the 1910 census, she is shown as having had 7 children, 4 still living. She came to this country in 1890.

Could not find Mary in the 1930 census.

Her daughter Ruth’s death record says that Mary’s maiden name was Hoel. The Shirley Kenning Family Trees agrees with that surname and gives her birth date as 31 Mar 1867 in Norway to Petternella Hansdatter Bjorshoi, wife of Kornelius Hoel.

Peder (son of Rasmus Eriksen RØD and Marit Olsdatter) was born on 13 Sep 1854 in Øre, Tingvoll, Møre og Romsdal, Norway; died on 28 May 1924 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota; was buried on 30 May 1924 in Dorris Cemetery, Cedar Lake, Farm Island Twp, Aitkin County, Minnesota. Registered for the draft in June of 1917 as Edward Thomas Rasmussen in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. He was married and worked as a riveter in the U.S. government’s Navy Yard. He was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. He lived at 336 78th Street in Brooklyn.

He’s absent from all records after that and is not mentioned as surviving Rudolph in that brother’s 1965 obituary.

She was Mrs. Nellie Petersen of Minneapolis in Rudolf’s obit.

Her SSDI last residence was in Ruskin, Hillsborough County, Florida, but she is not in the Florida death index. A Nellie P Campbell, b. 25 Apr 1895, died 22 Aug 1978 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan. Her residence was Florida.

We don’t know if she was born in Aitkin County or in Superior. Some of Ancestry’s family trees say that she was born in Aitkin County but in 1897. SSDI gives her birth date as 7 Jul 1896. The 1900 census has her as age 3, born in Minnesota in July of 1896.

Called Beda in the 1910 census. Living with her parents in the 1900, 1905, and 1910 censuses.

In the 1940 census, she and her daughter lived in Aitkin. She was still shown as married but there is not a husband present. She had no occupation and no income in 1939. She had had an 8th grade education.

She was Mrs. Gyda Tollefson of Minneapolis in Rudolf’s obituary.

Gyda’s obit also mentions a Bertha Murphy as a sister (as does Rudolf’s obit and, later, Nellie’s). We have no idea who that Bertha is or how she relates to the rest of the family.

A “Ruth Twin Rossmusson” was born in Douglas County, Wisconsin, on 11 Jan 1904. The other twin was named Mabel.

Living with her parents in the 1910 census. Appears to be the Ruth living with her parents in Farm Island Twp, Aitkin County, in the 1920 census.

A Ruth R Kamps, b. 10 Jan 1904 outside of Minnesota, died on 23 Feb 1990 in Hennepin County. Her mother’s maiden name was Hoel. A Ruth Rasmussen had married an Albert Kamps in Hennepin County on 25 Oct 1928.

In the 1930 census, she was a clerk for the Minneapolis Stock Exchange.

In the 1944 directory, she was the widow of Albert J and worked as a clerk. She lived at 456 Thomas Av S.

In the 1948 directory, she was a widow and was a buyer at Gamble Skogmo.

In the 1950 Minneapolis city directory, she was the widow of Albert O. She worked as a receptionist and lived at 456 Thomas Avenue S.

In the 1959 Minneapolis city directory, as Mrs. Ruth Kamps, she was an office secretary for Keenan & Clarey. She lived at 300 Ridgewood Avenue.

She was Mrs. Ruth Kamps in Rudolf’s obituary.

According to her death certificate, she was the widow of Albert Kamps and the daughter of Peter Rasmussen and Mary Hoel. She had been a secretary for a bond investment house. She died from a bowel obstruction. She had had 12 years of education (i.e., through high school). The informant for her death certificate was James Rubin of 4504 Browndale Avenue, Edina.
