The October 19, 1953, edition of the FFDJ notes that Miss Shirley Kilde sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer” at the wedding of Donna Nelson and Truman Thorson.

The December 30, 1955,edition of the FFDJ similarly notes that Shirley Kilde sang “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer” at the wedding of Bonnie Nelson and Dwaine Pikop.

She and Chester lived in Bishop, California, in 1996.

Shirley Ullom, 81, born October 10, 1936, joined our Lord in Heaven October 7, 2018. Shirley was extremely loved by her family and countless friends. As an accomplished singer and music teacher, Shirley left a lasting impression through music, art, and love in the hearts of so many. Shirley and her late husband, Chester Ullom, were pillars of inspiration in the community of Bishop and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by brothers and sister; Virgil B. Kilde; Gordon C. Kilde; and Betty J. Boen. Survived by brothers; Rodney A. Kilde and Clinton N. Kilde, and sister; Valdine J. Petty. Also, her step-brother Jack Kemp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services to be held at the First United Methodist Church in Bishop, California on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow.

Valdine (Kilde) Petty, 77, of Beaumont, California, died on July 10 from complications of COVID-19.

Preceded in death by parents, Ben and Magna Kilde, former husband, Harlan Alstad, longtime companion Carlet Hoff, and husband, Carl Petty; sisters, Betty (Bill) Boen and Shirley (Chet) Ullom; brothers, Gordon Kilde and Virgil Kilde; and nephews, Gordon Boen and Chad Kilde. Survived by brothers, Rodney (Eileen) Kilde, Clinton (Lindy) Kilde, and Jack (Alein) Kemp, and sister-in-law, Marlys Kilde.

Affectionately known as Aunty Dean, she also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

Private interment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery on August 4, 2020.

Valdine married Harlan Jerome ALSTAD on 30 Apr 1960 in Los Angeles County, California, and was divorced in Apr 1973 in Los Angeles City, Los Angeles County, California.
