In the 1910 census, the young family (indexed as Hayer) lived at 1403 4th Street S.E. in Minneapolis. Frank was a house painter.

The family lived at 4318 Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis in the 1920 census. Frank’s wife was Mary H. Their two children were Robert and Russell. Frank was a retail clothing salesman.

In the 1930 census, the family lived in northeast Minneapolis. Frank was a salesman at a retail store. Robert was no longer living at home.

Frank married May SANDBEAU on 4 Aug 1907 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. May was born on 11 May 1884 in Wisconsin; died on 21 Nov 1965 in Orange County, California. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

At the time of Blaine’s birth in August of 1930, he was a credit correspondent. The family lived at 1932 Aldrich.

In the 1930 census, he and his new, young, wife Mary, 20, live in south Minneapolis in what appears to be a lodging house of some sort at or near 19th and Aldrich. He is a correspondent for a retail oil company.

Robert married Bernice Mary GAGNON on 24 Jan 1930 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Bernice was born on 30 Jan 1910 in Buffalo, Wright County, Minnesota; died in Nov 1972. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Russell Elliott Mayer, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Tuesday, September 22, 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Dukes and husband David of Gay, GA; grandson, Michael Desmond and wife Lisa; granddaughter, Erin Desmond; great grandsons, Aiden and Connor Desmond; and sister, Lavonne Haas and husband, Walter. Mr. Mayer was born on February 18, 1918 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and May Sanbeau Mayer. He was a member of the American Legion and the DAV. Mr. Mayer was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and per his request, no memorial service will be held. He will finally join his loving wife Georgia who he loved and cherished for so long. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Notes:

In the 1940 census, he lived at home with his parents and siblings in Minneapolis. He had no occupation and was a high school student.

Not listed in his brother’s obit.

He enlisted in the Army on 7 May 1943 in Los Angeles. At that time he was single and was a stock clerk in civilian life.

He is listed in the 1943 Long Beach, California, city directory as being in the Army and living at 1400 Warren Avenue.

He and Marilyn lived at 6267 Turnergrove Drive in Los Angeles County according to the 1954 California Voter Registrations. Both were Republicans.

Notes:

LeVonne was born on April 9, 1925 and went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2013. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and had three brothers - Robert, Russell and Richie. Richie is the lone survivor at 91 years of age. He currently lives at Windsor Gardens in Anaheim. LeVonne's family moved to Long Beach, California in the early forties. She worked at Sears and also a small appliance store.

On October 5, 1944, she married Walter Haas in San Diego. Wally was in the Navy and one month later he shipped out to the South Pacific until November 1945. When he returned they set up residence in Long Beach.

After her husband Wally retired from the California Highway Patrol they traveled quite a bit - buying, repairing and selling antiques. She had a large collection of glass pitchers, plates and Hummel figurines. In 1980 Wally and LeVonne and two of their friends - who were antique dealers - went to England, Scotland and Ireland and bought a large container of antiques and sent them home. They fixed them up and sold them. They made many buying trips across the country from California to Maine.

LeVonne loved music and liked to watch old DVD's of musical comedies. She loved to play the piano. She has always been a caretaker and never failed to offer something to eat and drink to any visitor to her home. LeVonne enjoyed being with her family and fortunately they all live close and she was able to see them on all occasions. She was very active in her church and very strong in her faith.

LeVonne is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wally; her two children, Patricia M. Ramskill (husband - Stan) of Garden Grove and Paul James Haas (wife - Bunnie) of Anaheim. Paul is a retired Anaheim Police Sergeant. She is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus at Fairwood Manor in Anaheim for the wonderful loving care given to LeVonne for the past 2 1/2 years.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6pm - 8pm at Memory Garden Memorial Park, 455 W. Central, Brea, Ca 92821.

Catherine Ray Newell, 61, of Fayetteville died October 23, 2014 at Washington Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 27, 1953 in Hawthorne, California to Richmond Blair and Marilyn McQueen Mayer. She was employed at the VA Medical Center where she was instrumental in starting support groups for our veterans.

She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Mayer of Fayetteville; and two sons, Christopher Newell and wife Lauren of Little Rock; and Brandon Newell and wife Jessica of Springdale.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at The Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints in Fayetteville.
