He is probably the Oscar L. “Sundahl”, public school superintendent, age 31 (?) living in Walkon Village, Isle Harbor Twp, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota, in the 1930 census. The information shown here assumes that. That Oscar’s father was born in Norway and his mother in Minnesota. This Oscar was also a veteran of the World War.

His death certificate gives his occupation as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service. He and Lillian, who was the informant for Oscar’s death certificate, lived at 6101 Emerson Ave., N. in Brooklyn Center. Oscar died of pancreatic cancer. He was a veteran.

In the 1920 census, Judith was recorded as living at home with her parents and siblings in Eureka Twp, Dakota County. At that time, she was already a grade school teacher so she may have attended a “normal school” after high school.

She graduated from St. Olaf in its class of 1924. During her college years, she worked as a student assistant or teaching assistant to Ole Rolvaag.

The Sobergs lived next door to the Campions at the time of the 1930 census. Also living with the Sobergs at the time of the 1930 census was a 28 year-old laborer from Norway named Agnar Myrhaug.

Judith married Palmer Olaf SOBERG on 2 Feb 1927 in Dakota County, Minnesota. Palmer (son of Peter SOBERG and Oline TAPEN) was born on 26 May 1892 in Eureka Twp, Dakota County, Minnesota; died on 6 Jul 1954 in Dakota County, Minnesota; was buried in Highview Cemetery, Eureka Twp, Dakota County, Minnesota. In 1994 she donated her 114 acre old family farm to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It’s now called the Soberg Waterfowl Production Area, southwest of Lake Marion, straddling the line between Scott and Dakota Counties.
