    He is sometimes confused with #40688.

    In the 1900 census, he and his wife (Anna Louise would still hve been pregnant) live in Granite Falls on the Chippewa County side. He is also a dry goods merchant. His wife’s little brother Bertie is shown as living with the couple and working as a clerk and runner of the delivery wagon.

    In the 1910 census (mis-indexed as Hariese instead of Hamre), he is a retail merchant of a general store in Granite Falls. He and his family live on the Yellow Medicine County side of the city.

    In the 1920 census, he and his family live in Velva in McHenry County, North Dakota. He is the proprietor of a grocery store. The household includes a servant, 27 year-old Ruby Williams.

    John married Anna Louise NESTE in 1900. Anna (daughter of Knute Olous NESTE and Anna KJELDSON) was born on 20 Sep 1878 in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota; died on 31 Jan 1945 in Hemet, Riverside County, California. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
