    Dean O. Neshiem was born October 29, 1932 in Sioux Falls, SD to Otto A. and Muriel R. (Stahl) Neshiem. He went to work for Acme Concrete at the age of 16.

    Dean was united in married to Shirley A. Bridge in Luverne, MN on January 16, 1953. Dean continued to work in the concrete business until retiring in 1981. After retiring they spent six months a year in Thomasville, GA and six months at Lake Hendricks, before finally settling down in Brookings, SD.

    Dean is survived by his wife of 53 1/2 years, Shirley, of Brookings, SD; two children, Kevin of Sioux Falls, SD, Sheri and her husband Brian Fuehrer of Huron, SD; two grandchildren, Lauren Neshiem and James Neshiem; brother, Vaughn Neshiem and sister Janice Neshiem.

    Dean was preceded in death by his parents.

    Janice Muriel Neshiem was born in Mankato, Minnesota to Otto and Muriel Neshiem on January 16, 1934. She lived in Sioux Falls, attending Augustana College, graduating in 1953. She taught in Milroy, Minnesota and Fort Belvoir, Virginia before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota where she taught for 32 years before retiring in 1985.

    She was very involved with her church, St. Timothy’s Lutheran as well as the St. Paul Retired Teachers Association. In 2000, she moved to Heritage House Assisted living until 2004 when she moved to Colorado to be closer to family. She enjoyed her brother Vaughn’s family and her niece, Sarah Schulz and children. As her health declined, she was moved to the Life Care Center where she passed away on March 6, 2007.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dean.
