    His obit says that he came to the U.S. at the age of 19. In 1931, he bought a 400-acre island on Namaken Lake on the Minnesota-Ontario border and developed a fishing resort where he lived for the next 46 years. He wrote many articles for sports magazines. His last 12 years were spent living with his nephew, Irving Kvien, in Sioux Falls.
