She survived her son Jim who died in June of 2014. At that time she lived in Wenatchee, Washington.

Local artist, Jane Reynolds, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home in Columbia Heights. Jane was born March 18, 1927 in Tucson, Arizona, to the late Arthur G. and Jessie “Lucille” (Preston) Ellingboe.

Her father died when Jane was a toddler, and Lucille single-handedly raised Jane and her twin brother (Jules) and her sisters (Martha and Mary) while teaching elementary school.

Jane attended university until Charlie Reynolds swept her off her feet; they married and moved to La Grande, Oregon where Charlie supported the family through a family-owned insurance business.
Jane and Charlie raised their beautiful children in La Grande and were involved with many local charities, clubs and organizations. Charlie was a football referee and auxiliary policeman. Jane was an expert at Bridge Club.

After a couple decades the family relocated to Yakima and Charlie went into teaching and counseling. Soon thereafter, they moved to Spokane to be close to Sally and for Charlie to complete his Masters degree at Gonzaga. They moved to Wenatchee in approximately 1988, where the two of them lived the remainder of their days.

Jane was an artist all her life, working primarily in acrylics and watercolors. She specialized in Portraits and landscapes, and was the featured artist in numerous shows in galleries and shops around the Pacific Northwest. Jane’s work is featured in many local homes and businesses. She designed one of the annual Apple Blossom Festival posters, as well as many other commissioned projects.

Jane and Charlie travelled around the world, visiting their son Kip in Paris, New York, San Francisco and (their favorite destination) Hawaii.

Both Jane and Charlie volunteered with numerous local civic organizations, focused primarily on assistance for at-risk-youth. They were co-founders of this area’s AIDS Alliance, which has raised money for education, awareness, and research.

Highlights of their decades together included meeting their precious grandchildren, enjoying Jane’s tremendous artistic talents, and spreading their special happiness among the dear friends.
