    Notes:

According to Jeff: Gertrude Williamsdatter Lykken, 1843-1926, was born at Baggethun. Her husband was Torger Christopherson Lykken, 1833-1918. Gertrude’s parents were William Williamson and Anna Knutson (d. 1880?). Gertrude’s father also went by Vilhelm Vilhelmsen Baggethun. Gertrude came to the U.S. with her mother Anna in 1864. Anna lived with Gertrude and Torger until her death in 1880. The church record of Anna’s death has her last name as Lykken. It looks like William Williamson emigrated on his own to Wisconsin and later married and established a second family.

Her baptismal sponsors were: Ole Tollefsen Ellingbøe, Endre Bergeseiet, Knud Thuneeiet, Sigrid Skjelhaugen, and Ambjør Olsdatter Mÿhre. Ole Tollefsen was the man who stood for the child of unmarried parents.

Notably perhaps, none of her children were named after her father (e.g., William).

In the 1930 census he is William Williamson, 71, living in Stella Precinct, Cowlitz County, Washington, with his wife, Ida L., 57, and their 40 year-old single son William H. The older William is a farmer, the younger William is a bookkeeper for a logging camp.

Christopher T. Lykken was born in Warsaw township on the farm where he now lives, January 15, 1867, son of Torger and Gertrude (Williams) Lykken, natives of Norway. The father came to America in 1854, the mother in 1864. The father located in Wisconsin, where he worked at farming and in the pineries for eight years. In 1862 he came to Minnesota, and settled in Holden township, purchasing eighty acres of wild land, which he broke and improved, carrying on farming until 1867, when he sold this land and bought 160 acres in Warsaw township, which he cleared and built a home and outbuildings, carrying on general farming. In 1884 he added eighty acres, and in 1904 he retired, placing the charge of the farm in the hands of his son. Christopher received his education in the public schools of Warsaw, and attended public school at Northfield for one year, after which he returned to the farm and in 1904 took charge of the old homestead.
