In the 1930 census, he was listed as Robert V Elliot, living with his mother Anna M, age 26, and siblings Morris H and Joyce M in Wang Twp in Renville County. Anna is shown as married but with no husband listed. Both of Anna’s parents were born in Norway. Anna’s husband was born in Illinois. Anna had been married four years earlier at age 22. Anna’s parents were probably Haaken and Mathilda Martinson Listerud of Wang Twp. Anna seems to have been called Hanna (age 6, born in Norway) in the 1910 census.

In the 1950 census, he and his wife and their young daughter lived in Pierce County, Washington. Robert was a diesel mechanic for the “U.S. Army Fish Service.”
