    Immigrated 1867. Farmer in Eaton.

    Married 4 Dec 1877 Manitowoc to Marit, daughter of Thorer Tostensen and Randi Knudsdatter, b 14 Nov 1849, Svenes in Nord-Aurdal, d 8 Jan 1920, bur Valders. Immigrated 1870.

    Niels Eriksen Qvale, 50 years old, and his wife, Marit Nielsdatter Qvale departed Bergen on April 24, 1867, on the ship Nordcap. He arrived in Quebec on June 9, 1867. He was a farmer from the Valdres region of Norway.

    Mrs. Oley Berge, 58, of R. 1, Valders, died Thursday night at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a brief illness. The former Dagny Knutson was born Sept. 23, 1916 at Valders, a daughter of the late Lewis and Ella Knutson. She was a graduate of Valders High School. On June 27, 1936, she was married to Oley Berge at Valders. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Liberty since their marriage. Mrs. Berge was a member of the American Lutheran Church Women of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, a former Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and a member of the Roselawn Homemakers. Survivors include her husband; three sons, (private); one daughter, (private); three brothers, George of Manitowoc, Eugene, of Beloit, and Oliver of Reading, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Dedering, of New Holstein, and Mrs. Theodore Wimmler, of Litchfield, Mich., and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, with the Rev. Carl Poters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Valders West Cemetery.

    Dagny married Oley Edwin BERGE on 27 Jun 1936 in Valders, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Oley (son of Anton Olsen BERGE and Oline GIGSTAD) was born on 13 Aug 1911 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin; died in 2006 in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin; was buried in Valders Cemetery, Valders, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin.
