He was one of the last in the community who could speak the Vang dialect. Knut built a new residence on the farm in 1983 and extended the farm road. His gravestone is the reverse side of his grandfather's (Knut Syltevik).

    Brad also met with Knut when he was in Norway in 1979 or 1980.
