    Funeral services for Edward A. (Dewey) Litsheim were held at the Parker Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday afternoon, July 16, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. A. L. Rustad of Faribault officiating. Mrs. John Parker sang "Beautiful Saviour" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. Flora Parker. Pallbearers were: Clyde Sears, Paul Koring, Axel Thompson, Willis Steele, and Earl Gravelin all of Faribault, and Joseph Hudak of St. Paul. Interment was made at the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling. Members of the Faribault Barracks No. 949 Veteran's Of World War I, The American Legion Post 43 of Faribault, the Rice county Post 1562 Veteran's Of Foreign Wars, and the Faribault Chapter of the Disabled American Veteran's provided an honor guard and military rites at the cemetery. Included were the following members: John F. Kenney, commander; Frank Miller and Maurice Van Thomme, color bearers; Lloyd Zuehlke and Everette Brandemeuhl, color guards; Bert Murphy, Robert Thiffault, William D. Miller and Sylvester Fiebiger, firing squad; William Juhnke, bugler; and Enis Sahl, escort. Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from: El Cajon, Calif.; Tucson, Ariz.; Ironwood, Mich.; New Orleans, La.; Eau Claire, Wis.; Minneapolis, St. Paul and Kenyon. Edward A. Litsheim, the son of Johannes and Christine Strand Litsheim, was born at Madison, Minn., on January 21, 1893. He moved with the family to Kenyon where he attended school and grew to young manhood. As a young man, he received training in barbering and worked at that trade in Kenyon for several years. During World War I, he served overseas in France with the A.E.F. Following discharge from military service, he returned to Kenyon, where he barbered for several years. He then went to North Dakota, and following that, he came to Faribault, where he has since made his home, and continued in the barbering trade. Mr. Litsheim passed away suddenly at his home at 306 7th St. NW on Thursday morning, July 12. He is survived by two sons, Dewey L. Litsheim of El Cajon, Calif.; and Richard D. Litsheim of Faribault; by five grandchildren; by five brothers, Theodore Litsheim of Eau Claire, Wis.; Obert Litsheim, Robert Litsheim and Carl Litsheim all of Minneapolis and Earl Litsheim of Ironwood, Mich.; by five sisters, Mrs. Hiram Broin (Anna) of Kenyon, Mrs. Christine Bates of Minneapolis, Mrs. Doris Gibson of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Theresa Wolters of Faribault and Mrs. Selma Whitmore of North Dakota; by a number of nieces, nephews and by other relatives. he was preceded in death by his parents and by three sisters. He was a member of the Faribault Barracks, The American Legion Post 43, the Rice County Post 1562 VFW and the DAV; and the Faribault Barber's Union.

    An article in the Minneapolis Star, Wednesday, 18 Aug 1926:

    The charred body of Miss Inga Litsheim, 26, missing daughter of Mrs. J. O Litsheim of Kenyon, was found in the ashes of a haystack here by searchers. Identification was made by the mother through metal buttons on the daughter’s clothes. Miss Litsheim was discharged from the Rochester state hospital last Monday and has been missing since Thursday.

A private internment will be held in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; two sons, James (and Mary) and John (and Paula); one daughter, Jean Holm; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Gibson of Menomonee, Wis., and Teresa Wolters of Santa Monica, Calif.; and one brother, Earl Litsheim of Houston, Texas.

    Robert D. Litsheim, 73, of Kenyon, died Monday at the Kenyon Sunset Home. Services are 1 p.m. Friday in the First Lutheran Church, Kenyon, the Rev. Bruce Kjellberg officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hanson Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour before services Friday. He is survived by two brothers, Obert of Faribault and Earl of Sugarland, Texas; four sisters, Christine Bates of Minneapolis, Selma Whitmore of Stanley, N.D., Theresa Walters of Faribault and Doris Gibson of Menomenee, Wis. and nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services for Richard D. Litsheim were held at the Parker Funeral Home on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m. with Leonard Coffeen of St. Paul officiating. Pallbearers were James Hoffmaster, Robert Newcombe, Allan Forcelle, James Ebert, Fred Malecha, and Delmar Schafbuch, all of Faribault. Interment was in the National Cemetery at Fort Snelling. A military escort and veteran's graveside rites were provided at the cemetery by members of the veterans service organizations of Faribault. Included were the following: Commander of the military escort and firing squad was John F. Kenney; color bearers were Frank Miller and Everett Brendemeuhl and color guards were Ike Zuehlke and John Carver. The firing squad consisted of Art Shields, Robert Kern, Sylvester Fiebiger, Roy Winjum and Bert Murphy. Bulger was Kenneth Berndt, United States Navy. Relatives and friends attending the services from away were from Tucson, Ariz., Milwaukee, Wis., Menominie, Wis., St. Paul, Minneapolis, Kenyon, Nerstrand, Sebeka, Morristown, and Northfield. Richard Dean Litsheim, the son of Edward and Irene Hudak Litsheim, was born in Faribault on Feb. 13, 1933. As a child, he moved with the family to St. Paul, and there he attended the public schools and grew to young manhood. Following that, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the time of the Korean Conflict and served for a four year period. He also served for a number of years with the Naval Reserve. Following his discharge from military service, he returned to St. Paul, where for several years he was employed with a sheet metal firm. On June 2, 1956 he was united in marriage to Miss Carolyn Warmington at St. Paul. They made their home in Faribault where Mr. Litsheim was employed at McQuay's and later, at the Mercury Aircraft in Faribault. Following that, he had been employed with the Engineer's Specialty Company in Lakeville. Mr. Litsheim passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning Sept. 18, following an illness of several years. He is survived by his widow, Carolyn; a daughter, Christian Ann of Faribault; his mother, Mrs. Melvin Oswald of Tucson, Arizona; a brother, Dewey Litsheim Jr. of El Cajon, Calif.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hudak of Sebeka, Min.; a number of uncles and aunts and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Litsheim, in July of 1962. Mr. Litsheim was a member of the Rice County Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 1562 of Faribault.
