In the 1900 census, he and his family lived in Forest Twp, Rice County, Minnesota. He was shown as born in Norway in November of 1840 and his wife Rande was shown as born in Norway in March of 1856. The couple had been married for 27 years. She had had 10 children, nine still living. He had come to the U.S. in 1870, she in 1861.

In the 1910 census, he is still in Forest Twp. His wife is Rosa, age 53. She was Eric’s 2nd wife. Rosa and Eric had been married for twenty-something years. She had had nine children, 7 still living.

From the Faribault Republican’s 23 Mar 1887 edition:

The dead body found near the cemetery on Tuesday proved to be that of Gunder N. Lockrem, who had left home January 15th, on which day he went to the cemetery to make arrangements for the burial of his child which had died the day before. As he had gone away from home on several former occasions without informing his family of his plans, no search was made for him. The verdict of the coroner’s jury was that he came to his death by freezing. He was the husband of Ingeborg Enger Lockrem.

The information on Guri’s ancestry is from bs4203’s WSandveTree on Ancestry. That source claims Guri came to the U.S. in 1866, settled in South Dakota after marrying a man named Johnson, and died in South Dakota in about 1885.

Her birth year is not certain and is shown in various sources as 1872, 1873, or 1874 (e.g., Find A Grave). Her 1889 confirmation record, for St. John’s in Northfield, has not birth date shown other than an apparently speculative 1872. The estimable dwfrench1 shows 1873 so that’s what we’ll show here.

In the 1900 census, she was 26 and had been married for 9 years. She had had 4 children, 2 still living. Those two, are, apparently, Thomas and Andrew.

Her maiden name is Rode in Palma’s birth record.

In the 1930 census, she works at home as a laundress.

Andrew Edwin Lockrem was born November 24, 1885 on a farm near Little Chicago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lockrem. At the age of 21 he was married to Lucy Barrigar and they made their home in the Hazelwood community, purchasing the farm here and moving to Little Prairie 24 years ago where Mr. Lockrem has since lived. He was in his usual health, passing away Monday evening, Jan. 23, following a heart attack. Surviving Mr. Lockrem are his, four daughters and one son: (Rose) Mrs. Leo Stanford and (Grace), Mrs. Jack Gernandt of the Dundas community, (Minnie) Mrs. Ben Tupper of Northfield and Alma and Earl at home. There are 10 grandchildren and four brothers, Peter Lockrem of McGrath, Gus Lockrem of Northfield; Nels and Ole Lockrem of Minneapolis with four sisters, Mrs. Ole Flannes of Minneapolis, Mrs. Harry Edwards and Mrs. Sever Estrem, both of Northfield, also survive, and Mrs. Margaret McSlan, Granite Falls. Two sisters have preceded him in death. They were Mrs. Arthur Dilley and Mrs. Andrew Rudy, both of Northfield. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Dundas Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. Marvin Johnson in charge. Mrs. E. E. Williams and Mrs. Johnson sang during the service. Pallbearers were J. E. Ennis, Errol Swartwoudt, I. E. Tupper, Roy Palon, Stephen Becker and Harry Wallace and interment was in the Groveland Cemetery.

In the Northfield city directory for 1911, Anna was a school teacher living with her mother at 711 S Division Street.

Miss Anna G. Lockrem died at the home of her mother, Mrs. I. G. Lockrem, Saturday morning, Jan. 16. The funeral service was held Tuesday at 2 oclock at the Moravian church, Rev. Mark J. Andrews officiating. Mr. Eltun sang one of her favorite songs, “Not Lost, but Gone Before.” She was buried in the old Northfield cemetery. Until five years ago she lived in Northfield and made many friends who mourn her death. She graduated from the Northfield high school in 1905 and taught at several schools before taking up normal school work. After her graduation from the Mankato normal in 1909, she taught for two years at Waterville. While at Waterville her mother moved from Northfield and lived with her for about two years. Miss Lockrem was talented in music and was a teacher of vocal music. While in Northfield she was a member of the Moravian church and the Moravian Young Peoples society. She became ill two months ago and was brought to her home here; she was attacked by heart trouble which caused her death Saturday morning. She was 26 years and 9 months old. Out of town friends present at the service were Miss Edna Peck, Miss Gertrude Lowgy and Mrs. F. F. Williams, all teachers of Waterville, Miss Katharine Garner and Mrs. Harold Oliver, both of Red Wing, and Mrs. E. J. Sweeney of Faribault.

He is probably the Ole born 25 Feb 1860 (bapt. 1 April) in Vang to the unmarried couple Ole Aslakson Tvedt and Guri Endresdatter Tvedt. His baptismal sponsors were Aaste Erichsdatter Tvedt, Marith Odegaardsiet, Thomas Endresson Tvedt, Ole somebody Kjøs, and Ola somebody Qvien. Ole O seems to have been born on the farm of Thomas Endresson Tvedt.

Tomas Endresen, apparently Ole O’s mother’s brother, was b. ca 1831 and living on Tveith farm as a selveier with his wife and son in the 1865 census.

Ole O and his mother Guri Endresdatter (b. ca 1835) were living on the Aasen farm in Vang in the 1865 census. They were living with the Torstein Torsteinsen family, husmand med jord.

Ole O.’s mother is probably Guri Endresdatter Rognseie born 24 Dec 1833 and bapt 2 Feb 1834 to Endre Thomassen Rognseie and Aaste Erichsdatter.

Ole O’s father, Ole Aslakesen, b. ca 1837, was a smith on the Berge farm in the 1865 census.

In the 1880 census, he was a farm laborer on a farm in Pembina, Dakota Territory.

In the 1900 census, he was a fireman living with his family in La Crosse. His birthdate is shown as February 1859. He came to the U.S. in 1870.

His obit said that he was a long-time resident of La Crosse and for many years had been a fireman at the Listman mill. He died of heart failure at his home at 1633 Winnebago Street after two months illness. He was 50 years old and left a widow and five children, George, Oscar, Minnie, Clara, and Ida. His funeral was at the Norwegian Lutheran Church on Sixth and Division.
