    Da han giftet seg med enken på Steinde i 1694 fikk han Steinde, men måtte gi den fra seg noen år etter til broren til første mannen hennes. Da flyttet han hjem til Grihamar og overtok farsgården i 1703. Det ser ikke ut som han hadde barn med først e kona, med den andre, Marit Vee fra Årdal hadde han sønnen Thomas. Han giftet seg tredje gang med Sigrid Helgesdtr og fikk datteren Sigrid med henne, hun ble konfirmert i 1744. Den fjerde kona hans het Marit fra nedre Kvåle.

    Han var først innerst på Nystuen, hvor han traff den første konen sin, Anne K Nystuen(1763-1797), hun var tanten til "Basen", den berømte fjellstøgemannen. De hadde fire barn, men bare Knut (1794- ) overlevde. Han ble husmann i Bakka under Eltun 13/

    Da Olas første kone (Anne Nystuen) døde, giftet han seg året etter i 1798 med Marit Olsdatter Høverstad. og fikk i 1799 (13.2) kjøpt farsgården hennes. Marit og Ola hadde 8 barn, men bare 4 levde opp. Foruten Gullik var det: Ola (1804-1887) som var ugjift og bodde hos broren på Lajord. Han var rentenist. Gudbrand (1807- ) gift med Marit I Eltun på Lo under Lunde 17/-. Anne (1811-1837) hun var født på Langestølen og gift med Ola T Lo u/ Skjøre. Hun tok sin søster Sigrid (1815-1837) med seg til Skjøre da hun giftet seg. Men 2. juni 1837 omkom begge søstrene og hele familien til Anne, da det gikk et jordras på Skj øre. Høverstad ble solgt på tvangsausjon da Ola døde i 1817.

    Det begynte nok å bli trangt på gården allerede i 1853, og søsknene til Gudbrand reiste i tur og orden til USA. De må nok ha skrevet hjem og fortalt om fine forhold, for etter å ha gått å grunnet litt, bestemte Gudbrand seg for å selge Uvdal 2/1 (uppigarden) og dra over til Amerika han også. Moren hans var nettopp død, og den 74 år gamle faren bestemte seg for å være med på ferden, sammen med den yngste sønnen Asgrim.

    Frøholm skriver:"Med skjøte 5.3.1862 selde Gudbrand garden med lausøyre, utan livaure, til Gudbrand G Bø (1831-1905) for 700 spd og reiste til USA, saman med heile huslyden sin og faren og broren. Dermed vart den gamle Skogstad-Uvdals-ætta avløys t av ei ny ætt".

    Dette er ikke helt riktig, for Gudbrand G Bø som overtok, var også av samme ætta.

Andri s døde på Jome i VS hos sin sønn. Det var Andris som kjøpte Jomen 57/7 i 1857.

    The translation of this is: Andris had, after much effort, borrowed money to buy Vøvle, which he had leased by the state for 24 years, but sheriff Lars Wangensteen Kvam wanted the farm of his son, Lars who was a teacher and got "persuaded" Andris not to bid on it. Andri's died at Jome in VS with his son. It was Andris who bought Jomen 57/7 in 1857.
