    In the 1865 census, she may be the Marit Johannesdatter, age 17, living in Hedalen 207 in Østre Slidre. She was the daughter of Marit Andersdatter, age 53, a lodger on the farm of Tollef Reiersen and Marit Nilsdatter.

    The younger Marit was born 5 Oct 1849 (bapt. 26 Oct) in Øystre Slidre to Johannes Aslaksen and Marit Andersdatter Kolstad. The sponsors at her baptism: Astrid Johannesdatter, Marit Torgersdatter, Ragnild Larsdatter, Knud Olsen, and Knud Larssen Kolstad.
