  1. 1.  Andris Andrisson GRØV was born in 1868 in Vang i Valdres, Oppland, Norway; died on 12 Nov 1933 in Grant County, South Dakota; was buried in Northfield City Cemetery, Rice County, Minnesota.

    Notes:

    He and/or Ida were living or would live at 2116 Cedar Avenue according to a notation in the ELCA record of their marriage.

    In the 1895 census, he was a machinist living in West Minneapolis.

    In the 1905 Minnesota census, he and Ida and Gladys and Elida M Boe, 24 (probably Ida’s sister), lived in Minneapolis. He was a railroad engineer.

    In the 1910 census, he and Ida an their two daughters lived in Milbank, South Dakota. He was an engineer for a steam railroad.

    In the 1920 census, it was the same. The family had added a lodger, a school teacher, named Barbara Elrod.

    In the 1925 South Dakota census, he and Ida are shown as “Congreg” for religion. Andrew had been in the U.S. for 49 years and in the state of South Dakota for 18 years. He was a citizen.

    Andris married Ida Antonetta BOE on 28 Dec 1901 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Ida (daughter of Even Simonson BOE and Marit Evensdatter MYRE) was born in 1874 in Minnesota; died on 3 Jun 1940 in Erie County, New York; was buried in Northfield City Cemetery, Rice County, Minnesota.     In the 1942 Minneapolis city directory, she lives at 1824 1st Avenue S, apartment 205, and works as a clerk for the Minneapolis Star Journal & Tribune Co.

    The Sarah Olson family tree says that Gretchen married her sister’s widower. A Gretchen Olson, born on the right date, died in Delaware in September of 1986.
