In the 1910 census, he was Gilbert M. Digen, a real estate agent living at 3108 Pleasant Ave. in Minneapolis.

Living at 4115 Wentworth Avenue in Minneapolis at the time of the 1914 son’s death.

He registered for the draft at North High School in Minneapolis on September 12, 1918, as Gilbert Martin Digen. He was a self-employed farmer in Anoka. He and Lillibelle lived at 811 Sheridan Avenue in north Minneapolis. He was short and of medium build with blue eyes and a bald head.

In the 1935 Florida state census, he and his wife lived at 220 S.W. 31st Avenue in Miami, Dade County. He is 61, has a college education, was born in Minnesota, and was the owner of a real estate brokerage business.

In the 1940 census, he, as Gilbert Digen, and Lilli Belle lived in Dade County, Florida. He was a night watchman. He was a high school graduate, his wife had two years of high school.
