Mr. Anderson led a full and vibrant life. Bill was born in Barnesville, Minn., on Jan. 7, 1924, to Bill and Elvina Anderson and graduated from Barnesville High School. He attended North Dakota State University in Fargo for architectural engineering before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 13, 1942. He completed his cadet preflight training at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., and his aviation training at Corpus Christi, Texas, and Athens, Ga. After completing 30 months' active duty in the South Pacific Theatre of Operations, he continued his flight career in the Navy Reserve from 1945 to 1978 until he retired, after 36 years, with the rank of Captain, USN, (Squadron VR 814 at the Naval Air Reserve Training Base in Minneapolis, Minn.).

Bill was united in marriage to Carole Marie Dube' in Faribault, Minn., on Sept. 10, 1946, and raised their 12 children in Faribault. He began his civilian career with Artcraft Plastering Company in Faribault. Later, he enjoyed the real estate profession in Faribault and Minneapolis and acquired his broker's license for his companies, Century-21 and Anderson Associates; and he never retired!

Bill was a past president of these Faribault organizations: Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Industrial Corporation and Youth Coordinating Council. He served four years on the Faribault City Council, was a member of the board of directors of the Minnesota AAA, and numerous construction trade and real estate organizations throughout Minnesota. Bill was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, a Eucharistic minister, Sacred Heart Choir member, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was passionate about family, flying, golf, cards, fishing and friends — with humor and always a joke.

His most important career was being husband and father. He will be deeply missed by his children: Steven (Louise) Anderson, Faribault; Karen (Allan) Agee, Webster, Minn.; Marilyn Paquette, Apple Valley, Minn.; Paula (Mike) Peroutka, Faribault; Lynda (Tim) Ford, Faribault; David (Barb) Anderson, Dodge Center, Minn.; Bryan (Julia) Anderson, Owatonna, Minn.; Diane (Bryan) Caron, Faribault; Susan Anderson (Greg Metz), Yellow Pine Bar, Idaho; Thomas (Lisa) Anderson, Farmington, Minn.; Sara (Danny) Brown, Faribault; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Arthur Dube' Jr., Robert Dube', Chuck (Rose) Dube'; and sister-in-law, JoAnn Dube'; and extended family.
