The same 4 born, 3 living entry is in the 1910 census.

She was a 65 year-old widow living with her son and brother-in-law in Deephaven in the 1920 census. The household listed above hers on the census form was her daughter’s and son-in-law’s, Albert and Eleanor Borgerson.

According to her death certificate, she usually lived at Route 3, Greenwood, Excelsior. She had fallen at the home of her daughter two days before she died. Elenora died from bacteremia and pyelonephritis precipitated by the fracture of her left hip.

In the 1940 census, she lived in Hopkins at 346 11th Avenue North. Anna owns the house, worth $7000, and it was the same house that she had lived in five years earlier in 1935. Her son Earl and daughter-in-law Dorraine lived with her. Anna had had one year of high school.

He is living in Deephaven with his uncle and his widowed mother in the 1920 census. He is a mechanic for a tractor company.

In the 1930 census, he and his family lived in Hopkins. He was an automobile salesman. His household consisted of Arthur, 39, Irene F, 35, Saralou, 5, Robert G, 3 and some months, and Minnie Lou DeValle, mother-in-law. Arthur was a veteran of the World War. (The Fort Snelling grave information shows that he was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.)

According to his death certificate, he was a salesman of oil and grease. He resided at 9 7th Avenue S. He died of heart failure and pneumonia.

In the 1940 census, Ward and Gertrude lived on Excelsior Avenue in Hopkins in a rented residence. Ward had had two years of college, Gertrude was a high school graduate. Ward’s occupation was Tax Station Oil Salesman in the Wholesale Oil business.

Private in the U.S. Army in WWII from 1 Mar 1943 to 6 Jul 1943.

In 1953, he was the business manager, and his brother Earl the general manager, of Dahlberg Brothers Ford in Hopkins.

An article in the Star on December 9, 1955, describes Ward leaving the company to devote full time to his oil distributing business. Not long after that, Ward owned and operated Dahlberg Hardware in Hopkins.

Bill Marsh may have purchased part of what had been Ward’s interest in Dahlberg Ford in 1957.

Naval officer in World War II. Owner of Dahlberg Ford in Hopkins and was a commercial realtor and broker at the time of his death. Longtime member, and once president, of the Hopkins Rotary.

In 1953, he was the general manager, and his brother Ward the business manager, of Dahlberg Brothers Ford in Hopkins.

Earl built his large house at 12016 Douglynn Drive in Hopkins in 1954 according to the Hennepin County tax data.

In 1986, at the age of 68, Earl became a real estate agent for ERA MB Hagen Realty Co. He was later a sales agent with the Eden Prairie Coldwell Banker office. In June of 2000, at the age of 82, Earl started his own company, Earl A. Dahlberg, Broker.
