    Gladys Clark, formerly of Maynard, died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Home in Waconia, MN at the age of 91. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Tim Ehling and Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

    Gladys Marie (Loe) Clark was born on August 25, 1921 in Maynard, MN to Gilbert and Josepha (Johnson) Loe. She was baptized and confirmed at Maynard Lutheran Church and graduated from Maynard High School in 1939. On November 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Ed Clark at the Maynard Lutheran Church. They lived in Maynard until moving to Minneapolis in 1960. They returned to Maynard in 1968 and she made her home there until moving to Waconia in 2008. She was a life-long member of Maynard Lutheran Church and was active in its women’s groups and activities. She worked as the activities director at the Clara City Nursing Home for a number of years and belonged to the Green Feather Card Club. She enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, embroidering, baking cookies, making lefse and especially pleasing her family.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed in 1995; a sister, Bernice Lindeman and by six brothers: Irvin, Kenneth, Conrad, Lloyd, Harold and Donald Loe.

    Lloyd Julian Loe passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, surrounded by his family at Rosewood on Broadway, having reached the age of 88.

    Lloyd was born June 9, 1923 in Maynard, MN. His parents, Gilbert I. Loe and Josepha (Johnson) Loe operated a small dairy farm in Maynard. He went to Maynard Grade School and High School. During his school years, he participated in all sports, and worked on various farms in the area.

    In 1945, he enlisted in the Army Air Force, training at Shepard Field in Texas and Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. From there he was sent to an airbase in Tokyo, Japan. Lloyd was assigned to F.E.A.F. Headquarters Squadron, where he worked in procurement until his honorable discharge in 1948.

    He met and married his longtime pen pal, Arline Anne Lenart "Kitten", in 1949. Lloyd worked for Minnesota Mining Manufacturing Co. in St. Paul for three years. He then went to work for the Fairbanks Morse Scale Company for 34 years. He worked as a field engineer; his job took him and his family from St. Paul, MN, to Fargo, ND, then Billings, MT, and on to Overland Park, KS, and then back to Fargo, ND in 1969. He sold, serviced, and installed heavy capacity scale equipment and received national honors for designing and selling. Lloyd was a volunteer for Hospice of the Red River Valley for 20 plus years, where he found his passion for caregiving.

    He enjoyed woodworking projects with Arline and grandchildren, making many toys. He was up at 5 A.M. every morning with his bible, then off to The Powers Hotel for coffee with his buddies. He was an avid reader all his life, and read every Louis L'Amour novel written, many twice, until his sight began to fail at which time he switched to audiobooks. He loved days with "Kitten" in their backyard swing, watching CNN, The Minnesota Twins, and The Minnesota Vikings.

    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arline; his children: Pamela (Loy) Larson, of Moorhead, MN, Linda (Don) Jemtrud of Fargo; grandchildren: Katie (Tim) Glaser of Grandin, ND, Joseph Hahn, of Fargo, Scott Hahn of Moorhead, James Jemtrud of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jacob Jemtrud of Fargo; great grandchildren: Logan and Jack Glaser of Grandin; sister: Gladys Clark of Waconia, MN.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Harold, Kenneth, Irvin, Don, and Conrad; sister: Bernice Lindeman; and grandson: Daniel Hahn.

    Don was born June 17, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Loe in a small farm in Maynard, MN.

    After graduating from high school, he joined the U. S. Navy and served until he was discharged in 1949.

    He then attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis, studying telegraphy skills that he used in his new career for the Great Northern Railway in Minnesota.

    While working in Sioux Center, IA, he met and later married the former Norma Kroon on June 29, 1951.

    The railroad employment included moves to the states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wyoming and finally to Pueblo, Colorado where he retired on December 7, 1982.

    For the past 14 years he made his home in Casper.

    As an avid sportsman, Don loved to hunt pheasants.

    Who could forget how much he rooted for the Minnesota Vikings?

    Don was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Casper.

    Don is survived by his wife Norma; one son, Kim and his wife Carol of Denver; daughter-in-law, Lynn of Casper; and three grandsons, Randy, Chris and Cam. He is also survived by two brothers, Conrad and Lloyd; and one sister, Gladys.

    He was preceded in death by his son, Scott who practiced optometry in Casper from 1982 to 2006.
