He was born Endre Mattias Halseide. According to Espen, Endre came to Minneapolis before 1900 and worked for a railroad.

In the 1940 census, Andrew lived in a house he owned at 4228 30th Avenue South in Minneapolis. He was 68 years old and still worked as a machinist helper for a railroad. Living with him were his wife Marie, 57, born in Sweden, his sons Edwin and William, ages 29 and 26, and his daughter Eleanor, 24. They had all lived in the same house in 1935. Edwin worked for a railroad as a helper in the stores department. William was an assistant purchasing agent for a utility company (most likely Northern States Power, the utility in Minneapolis). Eleanor was a waitress at a tavern.

In the 1930 census, Andrew lived with Marie, Edwin, William, and Eleanor at 4228 30th. He and Marie had married when he was 36 and she was 26. In this census, Marie was born in Norway. Andrew came to the U.S. in 1890 and Marie in 1905. Edwin was a grinder for an optical eye glass company. William was an office clerk for a machine company.

According to Espen, Reidar had a barn with no land in Minneapolis. He went back to Norway to Halseid in 1914 and bought a farm close to his father’s farm on Halseid.

According to Espen, he arrived at Ellis Island aboard the Cedric on April 19, 1903.4

In the 1909 Minneapolis city directory, he may be the Conrad Hanson, baker, living at 2211 Butler Place.

In the 1910 census, he is probably the Conrad Hanson living with his brother Nels and (perhaps) future sister-in-law Inga (#10076) on Nels’s dairy farm in Richfield.

At the time that Evelyn was born the family was living at 3845 41st Avenue in south Minneapolis. When Burton was born in 1919 the family lived at 4420 43rd Avenue S.

He registered for the draft in Minneapolis on September 12, 1918. At that time he was a factory worker at the Northern Bag Factory at 101 3rd Avenue South. He resided at 4420 43rd Avenue South. His nearest relative was Mary Hanson at that same address. He was still a citizen of Norway. He was described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and light hair.

According to the 1920 census, he came to this country in 1903. He was a bag-maker in a bag factory.

In the 1930 census, he and his wife and three children lived at 4420 43rd Avenue in Minneapolis. He was a bag maker at a bag company.

He died of a heart attack. He was living at 2912 Fremont Avenue North and was the husband of Mary I. He had been a foreman at Chase Bag Company. The informant for his death certificate was Burton H. Hanson of 6421 Oliver South.

Marit (daughter of Anders Tollefson ELLINGBÖ and Ingeborg Olsdatter QVALE) was born on 30 Jun 1883 in Vang i Valdres, Oppland, Norway; died on 11 Dec 1972 in Hennepin County, Minnesota; was buried on 14 Dec 1972 in Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. In the 1910 census, Nils and his brother Conrad had a dairy farm at about East 54th Street and 28th Avenue in “Richfield Village” in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Two servants were with them on the farm: Inga Ellingboe, age 19 (may be #10076), and Arnold Heen, age 23.

According to Espen, he arrived on Ellis Island on April 13, 1906, aboard the Astoria. His wife was from Denmark.

Born Henrik Asæus. According to Espen, he arrived at Ellis Island on May 7, 1913, aboard the C.F. Tietgen.

In the draft registration he is Henry Aseus Hanson of Richfield who registered on June 5, 1917. He was a single self-employed dairy farmer in Richfield. He was born July 14, 1891. He was described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and light hair. Bertha’s burial record shows that her husband, Henry A, was a Private in the U.S. Army.

In the 1930 census Henry and Bertha lived at 4416 42nd Avenue in south Minneapolis. Henry came to the U.S. in 1909. He was an assembler in an automobile factory. Living with Henry and Bertha is Ida Churchill, age 58, “mother-in-law”, who was born in Minnesota and whose father was born in Germany and mother in Illinois.

Henry died at home of congestive heart failure according to his death certificate. His wife Bertha was the informant for the information on that death certificate. They lived at 4416 45th Avenue South in Minneapolis. Henry was an assembler in an automobile factory.
