In the 1940 census, he and Florence and their five children lived in New Market Twp. Joseph was a clerk in a grocery and meats store.

He was living in Elko at the time of his brother Olaf’s death.

Joseph S. Bergstrom, 87, Elko, died on Wednesday, May 24,1989, of cancer at Sanford Nursing Home in Farmington. Bergstrom was born on Dec. 2, 1901, to Ole and Betsy Bergstrom in New Market Township. On Oct.10,1923, he married Florence Page. He worked for the Elko elevator, was on the board of directors of Sanford Hospital in Farmington and was a former mayor of Elko; he was also a member of Christiania Lutheran Church in Lakeville. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife; two daughters Doris (Mrs. Ray) Cousins of Worihington and Marcella (Mrs. Gordon) Tripp of Saugus, Calif.; three sons Ronald of Elko, Loren of Chaska, and Duane of New Market; one sister Sophie Aronson of Lakeville; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held on Friday, May 26, at the White Funeral Home in Lakeville. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 27, at Christiania Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles vonFischer officiating. Interment was in West Christiania Cemetery. Pallbearers were Debbie, Todd, Scott, Jeff and Mark Bergstrom, and Lori Cousins.

Joseph married Florence Jeanette PAGE about 1924. Florence (daughter of Albert PAGE and Millie ERICKSON) was born on 5 Feb 1902 in Minnesota; died on 15 Mar 1995 in Farmington, Dakota County, Minnesota; was buried in West Christiania Lutheran Cemetery, New Market Twp, Scott County, Minnesota. Ronald S. Bergstrom (‘Bubs’) of Northfield formerly of Elko, MN, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2019 at Three Links Care Center, Northfield, MN. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Florence Bergstrom of Elko, MN; sister Doris (Raymond) Cousins of Worthington, MN; brothers Loren (Vi) Bergstrom of Chaska; Duane Bergstrom of New Market/Morristown, MN. Survived by sister Marcella ‘Marcy’ (Gordon) Tripp of Santa Clarita, CA; Sister-in-law Bernice ‘Sis’ (the late Duane) of New Market/Morristown, MN. Loved by 13 nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Ron was born November 22, 1925, in Elko and was a longtime resident. He was Elko’s 1st city clerk from 1949 - 1967. He was a driver and co-owner with his father Joseph Bergstrom of Elko Grain & Feed for many years. Ron was a long time member of The Lions Club, enjoyed bowling, his dogs and spending time with family and friends. Ron was a humble and gentle man who loved a cup of coffee and simple pleasures.

Loren Eugene Bergstrom, age 89, of Chaska, died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Lutheran Home of Belle Plaine.

Loren’s family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 W. 3rd St., Chaska, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. by The Reverend Allen Holthus of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chaska. The inurnment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Chaska.

Loren was born on February 2, 1928 in Elko, MN to Joseph and Florence (Page) Bergstorm, one of five children. He was baptized in Elko and confirmed in Webster. He was a 1946 graduate of Lakeville High School, Lakeville, and then honorably served his country in the United States Army in Japan. On October 27, 1951 he married Vila Goetsch at the Lutheran Church in Webster. Loren was manager of the Carver Grain Elevator in Carver, for 20 years, and also the Cologne, grain elevator for 20 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was quite the handyman on lawn mowers and bicycles.

Loren was preceded in death by his wife, Vila, parents, brother, Duane Bergstrom and sister Doris Cousins.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Bergstrom, Pam Tesch and Scott (Vicki) Bergstrom all of Chaska; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother, Ronald Bergstrom of Lonsdale; sister, Marcy (Gordon) Tripp of Santa Clarita, CA; sister-in-law, Sis Bergstrom of Morristown, MN; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Duane L. Bergstrom, age 73 of Morristown, formerly of New Market, passed away on 10-26-2011. He is preceded in death by sister, Doris Cousins. Survived by his loving wife, Sis; children, Jeff (Brenda), Todd (Jeanne), and Mark (Myra) Bergstrom; 5 Grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 1 Great granddaughter; sister, Marcy (Buzz) Tripp; brothers, Bubs and Loren Bergstrom.
