    William George Estrem, 92 years old, of Scotts Valley, passed away on May 31st, 2022, after contending with Alzheimers dementia for 10 years. He was survived by Shirley Estrem, his loving wife of 59 and a half years.

    He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Estrem of Weiser, ID; brother-in-law, Stanley Conrad of Scotts Valley; niece, Brenda Stack of Ogden UT; nephew, Edward Conrad of Scotts Valley; and granddaughter Téa Hegg of Boll, Switzerland. He is fondly remembered by his son, Conrad and Heidi Estrem of Boise ID; daughter, Kimberly Ann and Aschi Hegg of Boll, Switzerland; grandchildren, Zoé Hegg, Siena Estrem, Rémy Estrem, Kaioa and Tiana Hegg; sister in law, Carol Conrad; and nieces, Debra Clausen, Aleta Leen and Pamela Conrad, and many other friends and family.

    William was born on August 29, 1929, in Sacramento, CA, to Ernest and Alice Estrem. He attended Auburn High School, and following graduation in 1947, he owned a bread delivery service providing bread for business in the Tahoe-Donner area. He also continued his studies by attending Placer College. His studies were interrupted by the Korean War. He volunteered to serve in the Air Force. By volunteering, he could choose his placement and serve at Ramstein Air Force base in Landstuhl, Germany. He worked in a pharmacy on the base. He enjoyed exploring central Europe during his leave time in Germany. He was honorably discharged after four years of service and returned to Placer College, now known as Sierra College. From Sierra College, he transferred to Stanford University and completed his degree in Political Science.

    William met his wife-to-be, Shirley, while working during the summers inspecting pears in Lake County. In 1962, on November 11th, the two were married at Stanford University and settled in Scotts Valley. For forty years, William and Shirley worked hard to raise the best crop of pears. He spent many years serving on various pear boards to put his Stanford degree to good use. In serving on these boards, he traveled domestically and internationally to learn more about the pear industry. He was the Director of the California Tree Fruit Agreement for many years. He also represented Lake County growers on the Canning Pear Assn. He also served with the North Coast Fruit Agreement. He was the founder and President of the Scotts Valley Water Conversation District. The ranch served as a receiving station for Hunts/Wesson canned foods, where local farmers brought pears to be inspected and sent out to the cannery. At 73, William retired from pear farming and traveled to Switzerland, Michigan, and later Idaho to visit family and enjoy his grandchildren.

    William was known for his gentle kindness, quiet calm presence, infinite patience, twinkling eyes and a sweet smile.

    Robert Elwin Estrem was born on September, 6th 1925 to Alice Virginia Butler-Estrem and Ernest Melvin Estrem in Sacramento, Ca. He died on October, 24th 2011 at the age of 86 in Richland, Washington.

    Robert graduated from Placer High School in 1943 and later joined the Marine Corps. After WWII, Robert graduated from the School of Pharmacy at USC. He began working as a Highway Patrol Officer and later as an undercover narcotics agent for the State. Robert went on to work as a pharmacist in Paradise and several of the surrounding communities. Robert was a licensed pharmacist for 50 years.

    In 1994 Robert met Rosa Pardo and the two were inseparable until the day of his death. Up until 2005 they lived in Paradise, and then moved to Weiser, Idaho. In 2010, they moved again to Richland, Washington.

    Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and considered himself a "purveyor of antiquities".

    Robert was loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by the love of his life, Rosa Pardo, his brother William Estrem and wife Shirley of Lakeport, Ca.; his daughter Karen Estrem-Turgeon, husband Rick Turgeon and Grandchild Brenden Turgeon of Fresno, Ca.; his son, Erik Estrem and wife Micki of White Salmon Washington; his son Lars Estrem of Chico, his Nephew Conrad Estrem and family of Boise Id. and his niece Kimberly and Family in Switzerland.
