    He is I13023 in Jim’s VS. Jim says that Anders arrived in the U.S. in 1854 and farmed first in Liberty Twp in Manitowoc County before moving to Lessor Twp, Shawano County.

    An Anders Olsen Jome left Vang on 7 Jul 1852.

    Emigrated in 1854. Farmed in Liberty Twp, Manitowoc County in 1870, as Andrew Oleson. Moved to Lessor Twp, Shawano County.

    In the 1880 census, he was Andrew J. Olson living in Maple Grove Twp, Shawano County. In that census, none of Gjertrud’s children were at home. In the column related to health, Andrew Sr. and Mary had “very sore 2 yrs.”

    In the 1900 census, he was Andrew Jommen, still living in Maple Grove Twp. The younger Andrew is still living at home with his parents. Also in the household is Emma M., 13 (b. Nov 1886), and called “daughter.” Because Sissel is unlikely to have had a child at age 56, Emma must be an adopted granddaughter.

    They are probably the Ole Olson family in Deerfield, Dane County, in the 1860 census. That family consists of Ole, 31, a farm laborer, Julia, 35, Knut, 9, Ann, 4, and Ole, 2. Living with them (or else the family with whom they are living) is the Stark Peterson family which consists of Stark, 49, a day laborer, Ellen, John 5, and Peter 3. Everyone in both families had been born in Norway except for the two-year-old Ole.

    May be the Ole O. and Guri Jome or Jorne farming in Ettrick Twp, Trempealeau County, in the 1880 census. This couple had a 21 year-old son named Ole as well as several younger children. We’ll assume that they’re a match and use that information here.

    In the 1920 census, Peter and Kirstie are living in Lessor Twp with their granddaughter Edith A., 6, and Lina Erickson, 16, a high-school student.

    In the 1930 census, Peter, Kirstie, and Edith are living in Lessor Twp.

    Peter married Kirsti (Christine) Eriksdatter on 2 Dec 1876 in Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin. Kirsti (daughter of Erik Olsen) was born about 1860 in Norway. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
