  1. 1.  John Albert TASA was born on 5 Aug 1875 in United States; died on 9 Nov 1905; was buried in Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dennison, Goodhue County, Minnesota.

    Notes:

Perhaps he is the John Tasa, single, age 24, living in Emmitt Twp, Renville County, in the 1900 census. John is a grocery merchant. He was born in Minnesota and his parents were born in Norway.

Also called John A in some sources.

John married Christine SOINE on 5 Dec 1900 in Goodhue County, Minnesota. Christine (daughter of Lars Christopherson SOINE and Anna Tomasdatter ELLESTAD) was born in Nov 1875 in Warsaw Twp, Goodhue County, Minnesota; died on 17 Jun 1914 in Warsaw Twp, Goodhue County, Minnesota; was buried on 19 Jun 1914 in Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery, Dennison, Goodhue County, Minnesota. Mother’s name Soine according to death index.

Mary Christine's father James was the son of Helmer Sybilrud and  Almira (Myra) Leonora Tasa. Myra was the daughter of John Tasa and  Christine Soine. John apparently died, perhaps in South Dakota where Myra was born, and Christine later married Erick Kasa in Minnesota. Unfortunately, Christine died in 1914 of tuberculosis. Apparently at  this point Myra went to live with the Kildahls who were either about to move from Northfield or had already moved to St. Paul. (Mrs.  Kildahl was Bertha Soine, sister of Christine.) The 1920 census shows  Myra (as "niece") living with the Kildahls in St. Paul. Myra may have  been adopted by Johan and Bertha Kildahl and/or she may have taken Kildahl as her surname.

According to her death certificate, her father was John Tasa and her mother was Christine Soine. Myra had had 2 years of college and had been a schoolteacher. She died of dehydration and kidney failure complicated by dementia. The informant for her death certificate was Jane Sybilrud of Box 68, Elysian, Minnesota.
