Thomas B. Engel passed away on February 8, 2013, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on August 6, 1941, in Janesville, Wisconsin, to parents Bertrand and Elizabeth Engel. He worked for National Electric Cable company until 1982, when he opened his own hobby shop, Engel Pacific Hobby, which he ran for 20 years. He then worked for SST, Specialized Student Transportation, Inc. He enjoyed R/C airplanes, archery, gun club, as well as taking special needs children to school. He loved to read and listen to jazz music, as well as being with nature. He is survived by his ex-wife Stacy, their two children Nicol and Christine, and 2 grandchildren, ex-wife Sue, best friend of 35 years Donna Beecham, and his lover and friend of 11 years, Irene Corey. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Elizabeth. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and WAAM (Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum) in Hood River.
