In the 1900 census (June 8th), Elsey and Michael were in Mankato, MN. He is shown as church pastor.

In the 1910 census, the family was living in Willmar. Micheal, 42, and Elsie, 32, had been married for 10 years. Their children were Cathrine, 8, Frithjof, 7, and George and Elsie who were twins, age 1 and 3 months. The family also had a servant, 20 year-old Pauline Levano. Michael and Elsie had been married for 10 years. Elsie had had only the four children.

In the 1920 census, the family is living in Marinette, Wisconsin. Michael is, apparently, associated in some way with St. Mary’s Academy although his occupation is illegible. All four children are still living with their parents.

They were still in Marinette in 1930 although Katherine and Frithjof had left home. Although George was shown at home in Marinette, he also, apparently, was living in Minneapolis. Michael is still a Lutheran pastor. Michael is shown to have come to this country in 1886.

In the 1940 census, she lived in Minneapolis with her four children in a rented residence. She was a high school graduate.

In the 1930 census, Katherine M. Michaelson was a lodger at 510 South 8th Street in Minneapolis. She is a public school teacher. That is the occupation shown on her death certificate.

In the 1940 census, she lived in Minneapolis with her mother and siblings. She was employed as a school teacher. She earned $1300 in 1939. She had had 4 years of college.

Apparently lived with her brother Frithjof at the time of his death in 1968 at 2421 Pillsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis. At the time of her death, she was living at 2625 Park Avenue South, #609. She died at Fairview Riverside Hospital at 10:40 PM. The cause of death was a heart attack brought upon by a stroke that had occurred about 4 days earlier.

Her sister Else B. Michaelsen, who was apparently living with her at 2625 Park Avenue, was the informant for the information on Katherine’s death certificate.

Shown on his birth certificate as the second child of Michael and Elsa. The birth certificate was amended on September 9, 1940.

In the 1930 census, he is 27, single, and living at 31 Maple Street in Springfield, MA. He is an experimental engineeer in a tire factory. When he died, he was the chief of the supply department at the Minnesota State Board of Health.

In the 1940 census, he lived in Minneapolis with his mother and siblings. He was employed as a shipping clerk for the state board of health. He had had three years of college. He earned $1200 in 1939.

Never married. He died at home, the home he shared with his sister, Katherine Michaelsen, at 2421 Pillsbury Avenue South in Minneapolis. Katherine was the informant for the information included on his death certificate.

He died of a dissecting aneurism of the thoracic aorta with rupture into the pericardial sac. This had been brought on by hypertensive vascular disease. He had had, or also had, an aneurism of the abdominal aorta. An autopsy was performed on his body.

In the 1940 census, he lived in Minneapolis with his mother and siblings. He had had five years of college and was employed as an engineer for the state sanitation department. He earned $1800 in 1939.

George married Ellenore Junette HAUGEN on 10 May 1941 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Ellenore was born on 19 Sep 1916 in Hennepin County, Minnesota; died on 10 Jan 1999 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
