    Ingolf N. "Ing" Sandager, 85, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND, died peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

    Ingolf Nelson Sandager was born December 13, 1919, to Rev. Christian Sandager a Lutheran Pastor, and his wife Clara (Ellingson) Sandager, at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Ing was a senior in high school when he moved with his family to Kindred, ND. He graduated from Kindred High School where he met his future wife Isabelle Brateng. He graduated from Concordia College in 1941.

    He served as a Captain in the United Stated Air Force during WWII as a pilot where he attained the rank of captain. While stationed in Maine, he married Isabelle Brateng, his wife of 61 years, in Montreal, Canada, on September 17, 1943. While in the service, he contracted tuberculosis and spent five years in Veteran's Hospitals.

    They lived in Kindred from 1949-1957. In Kindred, he owned and operated the Sandager-Runsvold Funeral Home. They moved to Fargo in 1957, where he managed Fargo Wilbert Vault Co., until he retired in 1985. After his retirement, they spent winters in Mesa, AZ, and traveled the country in their motor home.

    Ing has lived the last four years in Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.

    He is survived by his wife Isabelle, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Paul (Mary Lou) Sandager, Scandia, MN, their children Matthew and Jason Sandager and Jennifer (Ryan) Severson; John (Susan) Sandager, Albuquerque, NM, their children, Ellen (Walt) Benson, Brian and Christopher Sandager and Smith Weber Sandager; one brother, Carl (Delores) Sandager, Lakota, ND; one sister, Carlotte Jostad, Kindred, ND.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ellen; and one brother, Elmer.

    Burial: Kindred Cemetery, Kindred, North Dakota.
