    Douglas Dahl 71, of Horace, ND died on February 24th, 2021 at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

    On November 13th, 1949 Doug was born to Douglas and June (Gunderson) Dahl in Sharon, ND. He graduated in 1968 from Cooperstown Highschool. Not long after graduation Doug enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam he and Linda Heyerdahl made plans to be married at Eidfjord Church near Hannaford, ND. They were happily joined as husband and wife on September 22nd 1973, a few years later, in 1977 Doug and Linda were blessed with a son, whom they named Douglas.

    Doug was well known as a hot rod enthusiast and spent much of his free time in his garage restoring classic cars from the bottom to the top. Doug had an amazing ability to fix everything from household appliances to his family's cars and much more. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, which often included attending car shows or driving to pick up classic cars for his collection of restoration projects. Doug spent many years as an electrician, but his true passion was collecting old cars and car parts and turning them into something special. Later in life when he found it difficult to continue working on cars he found great joy in visiting his son Doug and his family in Northern California and seeing all the projects he was working on, despite how difficult his many health issues made it for him to travel. On one of the last trips he made to California he was able to witness his son's wedding, he was overjoyed to be there and to become a grandfather to his son's step daughter.

    Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and June (Gunderson) Dahl, an infant brother, sister Janel, niece Nevada and brother Dwight.

    He is survived by his wife, Linda (Heyerdahl), his son Doug and his family, sisters Jennifer Weeks and Jackie Sherlock, as well as several nieces and nephews.

    Notes:

    Janel Dahl, 17, died early Saturday enroute to a Fargo hospital of injuries she received in a car truck collision.

    The car in which they were riding was involved in a crash with the semi truck driven by Wesley B. Heesch of Waterloo, Nebraska, at the intersection of Highway 7 and the county road leading to the airport south of Cooperstown. Sheriff Kenneth Johnson said the accident happened about 3:30 a.m. The driver of the car, William Lyche, 19, Cooperstown, was treated and released at the hospital here. Thomas Hare, 21, Cooperstown, is hospitalized in good condition here. Sharon Bendickson, 17, another passenger, was not injured. Steve Hanson, 19, of Finley was critically injured and is hospitalized in Fargo.

    Funeral services for Miss Dahl were held Wednesday morning in Trinity Lutheran Church here, of which she was a member.

    Janel Lynn Dahl was born in Cooperstown, June 16, 1951, the daughter of Douglaas and June (Gunderson) Dahl. She was a senior in Cooperstown High School.

    She leaves her parents, two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Roger (Jennifer) Lemer, Trego, Montana; Douglas, Fort Lewis, Washington; Dwight and Jacqueline, at home; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gunderson in California and Mrs. Myrtle Dahl of rural Hannaford.

    Dwight Jerome Dahl, age 59, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on August 2, 2014 unexpectedly but peacefully at his home.

    Dwight was born in Cooperstown, ND on March 16, 1955. He was a volunteer firefighter in Cooperstown. Dwight worked as a welder for Trail King Industries for 26 years. He enjoyed building street rods and drag racing in his earlier days. Dwight was an avid NASCAR/Tony Stewart and Pittsburg Steelers fan.

    Dwight was married to Debra on September 18, 1998. Dwight is lovingly remembered by his wife Debra, his Son Brandon (wife Andrea), his stepchildren, Libbi Koeppe, Bree Langemo, Chad Hesby, Rob Hesby and Tami Braaten; 1 grandson, 5 step-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren; his father, Doug, his brother, Doug, his sisters, Jackie Sherlock and Jennifer Weeks; and nephew and nieces.

    Dwight is preceded in death by his daughter, Nevada, his mother, June, and his sister, Janelle.

    He was loved by everyone and will be missed.

    She died May 7, 1993, at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo, ND, after a lengthy illness.

    Nevada Dahl was born March 24, 1975, in Cooperstown, ND, the daughter of Dwight and Myrtle (Lockner) Dahl. She attended school in Cooperstown, Grand Forks, and presently, was a senior at West Fargo High School in West Fargo.

    She is survived by her father, Dwight Dahl of West Fargo; her mother, Mrs. Mike (Myrtle) Anderson of Grand Forks; one brother, Brandon Dahl of Grand Forks; grandparents, Wayne Lockner and Douglas and June Dahl, all of Cooperstown; extended family, Erin Prindiville and family of Horace, ND; several aunts and uncles.

    She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Shirley Lockner.
