    Arlene Thompson Phillips passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022. Born March 2, 1925 in Wadena, MN to Clarence and Myrtle Thompson. She was the fourth child of eight. She moved to Utah in 1942 with her family from Minnesota. She met and married Dale Phillips in June of 1943 in Paso Robles, CA. They had four children together, Sandy Adrian (Larry), Ron (Connie), Sela Jensen (Bob Robinson), and Brad (Karen Moore). She has 10 grandchildren, Robyn Simmons, Dean Taylor, Gia Stratton, Scott Phillips, Amy Whittaker, Brett, Randy, and Shane Jensen, Ricci Galvan, and Bray Phillips; 24 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-greatgrandchildren.

    In 1993 she married Roy Miller from Canada and gained three stepchildren.

    She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as president of the Ladies Aide for several years. She retired from HAFB in 1970.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dale and Roy; her son, Ron; her parents, brothers and sisters.
     

    Arlene married Dale Lavar PHILLIPS in Jun 1943 in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, California. Dale (son of Phillip D PHILLIPS) was born on 25 Oct 1922 in Utah; died on 5 Jul 1988 in Davis County, Utah. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    He first married Mary Lou Rodgers in Washington, D.C., in May of 1946.

    He died after being struck by a tow truck and then a car while running across a Minneapolis street. An article in the Minneapolis newspaper said that Vernon was a painter. His death notice in the 26 Feb 1969 Minneapolis Star identified him as being of Ogden, Utah.

    Vernon married Lois Marion WALKER on 4 Nov 1948 in Elko County, Nevada, and was divorced. Lois was born on 2 May 1932; died on 12 Sep 2021 in Utah. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Lt. Col. (Ret.) Ronald Dale Phillips, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his residence in Clay Center.

    Mr. Phillips was born Dec. 1, 1946 at Layton, Utah, the son of Dale and Arlene (Thompson) Phillips.

    He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces, retiring as a lieutenant colonel after nearly 40 years of service. He served as a peacekeeper in the Sinai Peninsula. He married Connie Thompson on August 29, 1968 at Ogden, Utah. After retiring from the Army, he workd as a civil service employee on Fort Riley and for the Geary County Health Department.

    Survivors include his wife, Connie Phillips of the home at Clay Center; one son, Scott Phillips of Clay Center; one daughter, Amy Whitaker and husband Calvin J. of Junction City; two sisters, Sandy Adrian and husband Larry of Odgen, Utah and Sela Jensen of Hollister, Calif.; one brother, Brad Phillips of Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his mother, Arlene Phillips Miller of Ogden, Utah.

    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Fort Riley, Manhattan, with the Rev. Susan Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, Fort Riley.
