    MRS. K.O. BERGE, 62 PASSES AWAY SUNDAY AT VALDERS HOME Mrs. K.O. Berge, 62, passed away on Sunday afternoon at the family home in Valders. Her maiden name was Marie Larson and she was born in Jerpen in 1869.

    She has been seriously ill for the past ten days. Mrs. and Mrs. Berge moved into the village several years ago from their farm home. A husband, three daughters, Mrs. Ernst J. Hacker, city, Agnes and Edna, at home, two sons, Chester and Morton, six grandchildren, five sisters and one brother survive.

    Burial will take place Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Lutheran church in Valders.

    In the 1910 census, she had had seven children, all seven still alive.

    In the 1920 census, he and Josie lived with his brother Chester and his family in Town of Cato, Manitowoc County. Harry was a bookkeeper for a confectionary.

    Harry Berge, one of our World War veterans, passed away at the home of his parents, after a lingering illness of several years duration. Mr. Berge had been a patient at Wales sanitorium but several weeks ago was removed to his home there.

    Mr. Berge was 30 years of age and is survived by his wife and daughter, his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Hacker, Agnes and Edna and two brothers, Chester and Mortan.

    Harry married Josie Theresa OLSTAD about 1917. Josie (daughter of Olavus (Louis) OLSTAD and Mina THORSTENSON) was born on 22 May 1895 in Portage County, Wisconsin; died on 30 Jul 1985 in Wisconsin. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Gordon Berge passed away at the home of his parents Wednesday evening after a lingering illness, aged twenty-one.

    Besides his parents he is survived by six brothers and sisters, Agnes, Edna and Morton at home, Chester of Valders, Harry of Burlington and Mrs. Ernst Hacker of Newton.

    Mrs. Walter Berge, 63, of Valders, died Saturday evening at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Robert Onkka will officiate and burial will be in Our Savior Cemetery, Valders.

    Mrs. Berge, nee Agnes Berge, was born May 8, 1907, at Valders, daughter of the late Knut and Marie Larson Berge. She was married to Walter Berge Nov. 27, 1935, at Manitowoc. She was a member of Valders Legion Auxiliary, the A.L.C.W. and Lois Circle.

    Survivors include her husband; four sons, a daughter (Survivors omitted for privacy.); two brothers, Chester and Morton of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Hacker and Mrs. Joe Elsasser of Manitowoc and nine grandchildren. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

    Robert L. Berge, age 77, of 1695 Atlanta Circle, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, April 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 18, 1929, in Milwaukee, son of the late Walter and Agnes Berge. Bob was a graduate of Valders High School, class of 1947. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. On Jan. 11, 1958, he married the former LaVerne Massman in Manitowoc. Bob retired from the Manitowoc Company after 35 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Drews Bleser Post 88, Manitowoc Elks, T.P.A. and the Manitowoc Barber Shoppers.

    Survivors include his wife: LaVerne Berge, Manitowoc; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Harriet Berge, Maryland; Allan and Dolores Berge, Brillion; James and Bernadine Berge, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Jerome and Inez Klemm, Florida; Bruce and Virginia Klemm, Whitelaw; a sister and brother-in-law: Mary Ellen and Ed Bushart, Sun City West, Ariz.; a special friend: Harlan Larson, Manitowoc; and a very special great-grandniece: LeAnn (Craig) Barnett, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive.
