In the 1900 census, he and his family lived in Forest Twp, Rice County, Minnesota. He was shown as born in Norway in November of 1840 and his wife Rande was shown as born in Norway in March of 1856. The couple had been married for 27 years. She had had 10 children, nine still living. He had come to the U.S. in 1870, she in 1861.
In the 1910 census, he is still in Forest Twp. His wife is Rosa, age 53. She was Eric’s 2nd wife. Rosa and Eric had been married for twenty-something years. She had had nine children, 7 still living.

Andrew Edwin Lockrem was born November 24, 1885 on a farm near Little Chicago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lockrem. At the age of 21 he was married to Lucy Barrigar and they made their home in the Hazelwood community, purchasing the farm here and moving to Little Prairie 24 years ago where Mr. Lockrem has since lived. He was in his usual health, passing away Monday evening, Jan. 23, following a heart attack. Surviving Mr. Lockrem are his, four daughters and one son: (Rose) Mrs. Leo Stanford and (Grace), Mrs. Jack Gernandt of the Dundas community, (Minnie) Mrs. Ben Tupper of Northfield and Alma and Earl at home. There are 10 grandchildren and four brothers, Peter Lockrem of McGrath, Gus Lockrem of Northfield; Nels and Ole Lockrem of Minneapolis with four sisters, Mrs. Ole Flannes of Minneapolis, Mrs. Harry Edwards and Mrs. Sever Estrem, both of Northfield, also survive, and Mrs. Margaret McSlan, Granite Falls. Two sisters have preceded him in death. They were Mrs. Arthur Dilley and Mrs. Andrew Rudy, both of Northfield. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Dundas Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. Marvin Johnson in charge. Mrs. E. E. Williams and Mrs. Johnson sang during the service. Pallbearers were J. E. Ennis, Errol Swartwoudt, I. E. Tupper, Roy Palon, Stephen Becker and Harry Wallace and interment was in the Groveland Cemetery.

The estimable dwfrench1 has him as Edwin Andrew Rudy, biological son of Anders and Emma but the adopted son of Knute Rudy (brother of Anders) and Lina Dalby Rudy.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR ACCIDENT VICTIM

The interment of Donna Mae Gernandt, age 15, of Morristown was in the Groveland cemetery Friday after noon July 30.
Donna, who was the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucy Lockrem of Dundas, was killed in an auto accident Tuesday morning as was her companion who was driving the car, Phyllis Weatherhead, also age 15, when the car struck loose gravel and overturned.
Donna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gernandt, was born in Bridgewater township, June 17, 1939. The family lived in this vicinity for several years. Three years ago they moved to Morristown and Donna had completed her freshman year in the Morristown high school this year. Besides her parents, she leaves one brother, Francis, age 14; three sisters; Jo Ann, 12; Patty, 10, and Diane, 8.
Private services were held in the Gernandt home at noon Friday, and a two o'clock service was held in the Bethlehem Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Victor Marxhausen. Pallbearers were her four uncles; George and Leo Gernandt of Minneapolis; Louis Gernandt of Eau Claire, Wis., and Frank Gernandt of Lonsdale.

The accident occurred on a county road three miles north of Morristown. The car flipped end over end and landed upright. Phyllis Weatherhead was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Donna died at a Faribault hospital. She had been pinned under the wreckage. Patricia Weatherhead, age 10, was also thrown from the car but was injured and managed to get to a nearby farm for aid.

Francis J. Gernandt, age 80, of Faribault, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Private family services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home with the Reverend Janet White, Pastor of First English Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment and military rites will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield.
Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Francis John, the son of Jack and Grace (Lockrem) Gernandt was born December 5, 1940 in Bridgewater. Fran was confirmed at First English Lutheran Church and graduated from Faribault High School in 1958. After graduation, Fran proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 – 1962. On May 25, 1963, he married Judy Johnson at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northfield. While working for the University of Minnesota, Fran continued his education at the Southern Police Institute and the FBI Academy in Virginia. Fran continued working with the University of Minnesota as a police officer and after 32 years, Fran retired in 1996. Most of all, Fran loved his family; he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at his home on French Lake and golfing while spending his winters in Florida. Fran was an avid sports fan, especially of the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Survivors include his two daughters, Julie (and Sam) Dalton of Richfield and Shari (and Pat) Leubner of Apple Valley; four grandchildren, Dan (and Jess) Dalton, Jenny Dalton, Michael (and Stephanie) Leubner and Brianna (and Tony) Lempelious; great-grandchildren, Jack, Audrina, Joey, Brooklyn and Aubrey; brother, Robin (and Kim) Gernandt; sisters, Jo Ann (and Bob) Mayer, Patty (and John) Keahey and Dianne (and Dave) Velzke; special friend, Gail Kielmeyer; other relatives and friends.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Judy in 2006 and sister, Donna Gernandt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center.
