    Funeral services for Knute G. Rudy, well known Forest township farmer, who passed away late Friday, July 27, at the Northfield Hospital, were held Monday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church, with the Rev. B. A. Benson officiating. Sever and Gilbert Dalby, Oscar Nelson, Clarence Camp, Gus Lockrem and Peter Paulson were pallbearers. Interment was in Northfield Cemetery. Mrs. Olaf Skramstad sang "I Know of A Sleep in Jesus' Name," and "Abide With Me," accompanied by Professor Carl Abrahamson at the services. Relatives and a large number of friends attended the service. Mr. Rudy had been a patient sufferer with arthritis for 12 years. He was born in Valders, Norway, April 3, 1875, to Ingeborg and Gullick Rudy and came to the United States when he was two years old. He had lived in Forest township most of his life. He was married to Miss Boletta Dalby who survives him. One daughter, Mrs. Clement Fabre (Cora) of St. Paul, also survives. A nephew, Edwin Rudy, has lived with the family since babyhood. One sister, Mrs. Anna Clark of Washington state is living, while a sister, Mrs. Mary Camp, and two brothers, George and Andrew Rudy, have preceded him in death.

    In the 1920 census, he is shown as Edwin, the son of Knute and Berth Rudy of Forest Twp in Rice County, Minnesota.

    The Dalby database says he is the son of Andrew Rudy and Emma Lockrem. However, he is not in the MHS birth index. (Nor is his mother’s death in the MHS death index.) His mother’s maiden name is shown as Lockrem in the MHS death index. He is not mentioned in his biological father’s obit.

    The estimable dwfrench1 has him as Edwin Andrew Rudy, biological son of Anders and Emma but the adopted son of Knute Rudy (brother of Anders) and Lina Dalby Rudy.
