    Living at 408 15th Ave. in Moline, Illinois in the 1920 census (January 10th). The family was Martin J., 32, Mollie, 26, and Orvil, 1 and 7 months. Martin works in a factory, his occupation is illegible.

    At the time of the 1930 census, Mollie and family were living at 1016 27th Street in Moline, Illinois, in a house they were renting at $15 per month. The household had a radio. The family consisted of Martin J., 40, Mollie B., 36, son Orvall M., 11, and son Jack D., 5. Martin was born in Iowa and his parents were born in Ireland. Mollie is shown as having been born in Minnesota and her parents in Norway. Both boys were born in Illinois.

    Couldn’t find her in the SSDI. She was not listed as a survivor of her brother Melvin in his obituary.

    Her obit gave her address as 503 Center Court, Springbrook Courts, Moline.

    Orville Martin Ryan, 91, of Moline, died July 16, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Continuing Care Center, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 with a visitation one hour prior with a rosary recited at 9:45 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery and Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Orville was born May 19, 1918 in Moline to Martin and Mollie Bertha (Thompson) Ryan. He married Frances Rita Curry on November 13, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rock Island. Orville was a WWII Army veteran. He worked as a welder for six years for McLaughlin Body, Moline. He had also worked for 30 years at John Deere Plow Planter where he started as a welder and retired on March 1, 1980 from the parts department. He was very proud of his time with John Deere and loved talking about it. Orville was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline where he had been a food pantry volunteer. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #246 and a former member of the Moline Moose Lodge. He enjoyed camping and did so for 20 years. He liked to play bingo and won all the time. He loved a good game of euchre with his family at Christmas and still could beat them all. He is survived by Wife of 55 years Rita Ryan Children Steven (Cheryl) Ryan Richard (Kellee) Ryan Patricia (Donald Mohr) Scranton Karen (Randy Martinson) Green Grandchildren Todd (Crystal) Scranton Erik (Ryan) Ryan James (Nikki) Scranton Timothy Scranton Chad Green Great Grandchildren Logan Scranton Ignatius Scranton and two great grandsons to be born in September and November Brother Jack (Doris) Ryan He was preceded in death by his parents.

    In the 1940 census, Orville lived at home with his parents and brother. Orville was a machine operator at a candy factory. He made $510 in 1939.

    In the 1942 city directory, he was still at home. He was a laborer for the Container Corporation of America.

    In the 1949 city directory, he was a welder. He still lived at home with his parents and brother.

    In the 1953 directory, he lived at home with his parents and brother. He was an assembler for the John Deere Planter Works.

    In the 1954 directory, he still lived at home. He was an assembler for Deere & Co.

    He wasn’t listed in the 1955 directory.

    In the 1957 Rock Island directory, he and Rita live at 3618 26th. He was an assembler for Deere & Co.

    In the 1949 city directory, he still lived at home with his parents and brother. He was a millwright for the John Deere Plow Works.

    In the 1953 city directory, he still lived at home with his parents and brother. He was a repair man for the John Deere Plow Works.

    He wasn’t listed in the 1954 directory.

    In the 1955 directory, he and Doris lived at RD 1 in East Moline. He was a repair man for John Deere Plow.

    A Jack D Ryan, b. 2 Jan 1925, died 29 Jan 2014. His Social Security number had been issued in Illinois before 1951. The SSDI did not show a last residence.
