Marlin Kilde Obituary
He was born on March 29, 1918, in Otter Tail County, and was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls. He graduated from Fergus High School in 1936. The Boy Scouts of America was a keen interest for him, and in his youth he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the Army Air Corps and was trained as a tail-gunner on the well known B-17. He later was an instructor in aerial gunnery. After the war he briefly attended the University of Minnesota on the GI bill. For the rest of his working life he was employed in construction. For a number of years he worked as a master carpenter for the firm of Rudolph Trones and son of Edina. He loved to travel and it was on an overseas trip that he met Francelia Bonse. They were married on Dec. 16, 1979. They enjoyed being snowbirds in San Juan, Texas. A special delight for them both was bird watching. His stepchildren and grandchildren were among the great joys of his life. He is survived by Joan Bonse-Barber, Lake Elmo, Mary Bonse-Troutz, Baldwin, Wis., Mike (Cathy) Bonse, Knapp, Wis., and Robert (Shelly) Bonse, Maplewood; eight grandchildren; siblings: Sylvia (Everald) Strom, Ardith (Raymond) Seaver, and John (Janet) Kilde, all of Fergus Falls, and Cordelia (Duane) Trones, Minnetonka. Also surviving is sister-in-law Mary Jo Kilde, Battle Lake; and a host of nieces and nephews, whom he enjoyed very much. He was preceded in death by his wife who died July 27, 1995; his parents; brother, Loren; and sister, Dorothy Christianson. Memorials are preferred to the A.A. Pedersen Preaching Scholarship at the Lutheran Brethren Seminary. Visitation: One hour prior to the services at the church Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church Clergy: Rev.
