Arrived at Ellis Island on April 11, 1900, aboard the S.S. Oceanic which had sailed from Liverpool on April 4th. Traveling with him on the Oceanic was his friend from Vang, Andris A. Belsheim. Anders Andersen Belsheim, b. 1866, had left Vang on the same day as Ole Ivarson.

In the 1900 U.S. census, Ole was rooming with his brother Knudt with a family in Renville County, Sacred Heart Twp.

He registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, at the Local Board, Renville County, Olivia, Minnesota, and was living in Maynard at the time. He worked and lived on the farm of Endre A. Ellingboe, Route 1, Maynard. He gave as his nearest relative Knute Ellingboe of Milaca. Ole was described as of medium height and build with blue eyes and dark brown hair.

In the 1918 Alien Registration, he was probably the Ole Ellingbo, age 40, of Butterfield in Watonwan County, Minnesota.

In the 1920 census, he was still single and was a boarder with the Ole Johnson family in Granite Falls. His occupation is lather.

He is probably the Ole Ellingbo who was the subject of an article in the May 22, 1921, edition of the Alburquerque Journal. The article described a legal suit filed by Ellingbo to recover $108.50 of an unpaid bill for construction services.
