Notes	His family adopted the spelling Janisch. Originally, it was Janiesch. He and his family lived on a farm in Morgan, Redwood County, Minnesota, at the time of the 1900 census. William came to the U. S. in 1890. The family lived in Sherman Twp. Redwood County, Minnesota, at the time of the 1910 census. In the 1920 census, William and Amelia lived in Sleepy Eye. William was a laborer for the railroad. In the 1930 census, as William Janisch, he and Amelia, their three youngest children, and a grandson, Kenneth, lived in New Ulm. No one in the household had an occupation. Kenneth was born Kenneth Harold Janisch on 9 Jun 1922 in Brown County. That birth is not recorded in the MHS index of Minnesota birth certificates. Kenneth married Violet A Pechtel on 1 Aug 1947 in Brown County, Minnesota. That Kenneth Janisch died in St. Paul on 6 Jul 1987. According to the MHS death certificate index, Kenneth’s mother’s maiden name was Brown which suggests that his mother may have been Hattie. In the 1940 census, as William Janisch, he and Amelia and son Sylvan and daughter Anna (Hedwig?) lived in New Ulm.
