  Notes	Living with August and Anna at the time of the 1900 census. He came to the U.S. in 1896 and was not able to speak English. Immigration records show that, as 70 year-old Ferd. Schumann, he arrived in New York on 11 July 1897 aboard the S.S. Sicilia which had sailed from Stettin on June 24th. The manifest said that his final destination was Mankato where he was going to join his son. He was single and his occupation was shoemaker. His last residence appears to be “Ternark.”
